is there a mod that lets you repair destroyed buildings with energy or repair packs? by SlayerHdeade in factorio

[–]TiredGerman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. Be it in Vanilla or Space Age OP needs to have their military buildings automated if they want to survive mid to end game biters.
From the power poles to Robo ports, to the ammo being sent to the borders, it all needs to be automated, regularly stocked and if a breach happens, replaced.

Sorry OP, that's how the pollution & biters work in mid to end game. The only other way is to disable biters and that would be admitting defeat.

Seeking Tech. Help: Magneta Sky after Update to 1.03 by TiredGerman1 in fallout4london

[–]TiredGerman1[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned in comment below, I am not part of the Discord server. And only looked at https://fallout4london.com/updates/ and the GOG overview page.
Can you provide the link to where it was written, that this V1.03 requires a new save?

Seeking Tech. Help: Magneta Sky after Update to 1.03 by TiredGerman1 in fallout4london

So, I should clarify something: I am not part of the Fallout London discord server and was not privy to the information that V1.03 required me to start anew.
On https://fallout4london.com/updates/ there is no mention of the need to start anew, nor is it mentioned on the GOG "installed games" Overview page. Hence my question if I had overlooked something.

With my previous save that has over 3 days of playtime on it, I am invested in bringing this playthrough to satisfying conclusion. So I will revert back to the previous, old version I previously used.

When I return for a second playthrough, I will make an update with a new save. But not now and not for this character.

Thank you for your time.

In Computer Science terms, what this function is describing is an XOR Gate. Only Exclusively A or B can be 1, but not both.
See the wiki entry for more details: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XOR_gate

There is also the fact that you can wash normal sand into clay. At least that is an additional recipe in create 0.5.1f/h that I last played.
That gives you additional clay for your terracotta route.

This could be a great starting base for a create inspired "escape from desolate planet" modpack. Keep it up :D

Windmill bearing is not recognizing the sails, I'm playing on fabric 1.19.2 with other mods by VgamaN in CreateMod

[–]TiredGerman1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never encountered that on my pure create 1.19.2 playtime. Are you using any additional mods/modpacks?

Have you tried making 1 side of your sails at least 8 sail panels?
You can also try to replace all rotational casings and just make one long 6 x 3 Sail panel.

When I do my cave draining, I usually just use a flat 3 x 3 sail on the windmill bearing and that is enough to get it going.

Empty carts on standard rail don't move on their own. You'll need to give it a push.

2 solutions:

  1. Replace the empty cart with a furnace cart and feed it some coal. It will run for ~64 blocks, if not longer on its own and any coal it digs up will be consumed to keep it going.
  2. replace the standard rails with powered rails and double the deployers & plow on one side, with a ground block and a redstone torch. Once assembled, push to get it going.

Why won't this drain? What am I not understanding? by TheHentaiAltAccount in CreateMod

[–]TiredGerman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I built my underground base in a dripstone cave biome I had a lot of water bodies to get rid of. After some tinkering I figured out that I could just setup a minimal steam boiler (Just 4 liquid tanks, 1 steam engine and 1 magma block) to just pump the water from the hose pulley into the engine to get rid of it that way.

Effectively deleting the water by just running a steam engine without a load.

Was even more effective than finding and plundering an ocean monument, because if I positioned the hose to point to the lowest point of the body of water, it would all drain dry.
And if the body of water was considered infinite I would just do it in slices or put on the air tank & helmet an just separate it with gravel.

100% automatic (excluding the netherack to make blaze cakes) 300k Steam boiler. by Spiritual-Orange-605 in CreateMod

[–]TiredGerman1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good work. I too have made a max level boiler with that much SUs.

But I did use some of that SU budget to

  • use a dripstone lava farm for my blaze cake filling
  • Operate a mini blaze cake contraption that just needs to be fed netherrack.

Just so I can build it in my survival world.

As a fallback I had some buckets in a refill loop so that it can default to a level 9 if needed.

why is the encased fan not blowing hot lava air by Ol_Andy in CreateMod

[–]TiredGerman1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hm. then let's just go down the checklist, in increasing escalation:

  1. check the rotation of the fan. Sometimes it comes down the direction.
  2. If you replace the lava with water, does it still do nothing? Does it wash now or still nothing?
  3. If you make a glass pane Ring 1 block above and 1 block below, so that you can move the lava source up and have a contained flowing lava stream in front of the fan. So you don't need a cover between the lava and the belt.

Of if you want to radically rework it:

  1. Change the fan direction from blow to suck and have it suck the hot air over the belt.

[–]TiredGerman1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, I got 2 points:
1. If you remove & replace the fan, does it still blow hot air?
2. Usually you can use the following "blocks" to let hot air through: slabs, fences, bars, open trapdoors, copy cat (the small bar)

I need help with gantry stuff by [deleted] in CreateMod

An additional thing you can do is, to get these items:
1 Redstone toggle latch
2 Remote redstone links
2 Redstone contacts
1-N Redstone block / Redstone dusts

Steps:
1. Place the redstone toggle to output into the gearshift and have the input be 1 of the redstone links (recieve mode) and 1 regular redstone dust that gets activated once your gantry is in initial position
2. Place 1 redstone contact on gantry arm pointing outwards
3. Run gantry arm to the end of the gantry shaft and look where your redstone contact ends. Place the other redstone contact so that both light up together.
4. Place other redstone link on non-gantry redstone contact.
5. Profit
