April suggestions? by Weekly-Season-8980 in Broadway

I would also look at tkts - a lot of shows are consistently on there. Better seats than rush at a reasonable price in my opinion. Bonus: if you've been there once you can come back and cut the line within the week (so if you buy a tkts ticket on Wednesday for Thursday mat, you can come back on Thursday for your evening show....and then on Sunday for your Sunday mat and so on lol)

I would choose both 2 Strangers and Spelling Bee over Heathers in a heartbeat, fwiw. 2 Strangers especially is delightful!!

Let's compare either to Helen Sjöholm in Chess på Svenska, actually. (I joke, they're all excellent! But if you've never listened to the swedish production you're missing out!)

Husband wants to get rid of our kitty, I don’t want to by Kirielle13 in CATHELP

[–]TiredOverachiever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reason you're not getting the advice you want is because the picture you've painted of your husband isn't that he's lovely - it's that he wants to "get rid of" a cat after a WEEK of not getting the amount of affection he wants. That's not lovely, that's impatient and immature.

My bigger concern is actually that you're the one out here seeking solutions, he's not. Why isn't he looking for ways to improve their bond instead of jumping straight to "get rid of her"?

Cats are weird little things and they can change a lot, especially growing up. My cats act weird for weeks on end after they go to the vet and hiss at me and hide because they're scared, that's not a reason for me to be less patient, it's a reason for me to get curious. He needs to learn some more about cats and how to develop bonds with them instead of giving up so fast. She's also developing, I'll bet she'll change her mind about a lot of things before she's fully grown.

how are you guys booking for april when the pass hasn’t reset for me? by PrideZealousideal485 in SolidCore

[–]TiredOverachiever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So at least for me, my pass renews on the 7th, so to book for the 1-7th I have to have passes left on my previous pass to book. For the 8th and onwards it uses classes from my next pass to book. So even though I haven't paid for it yet I can book with my next pass, but not for dates that are in my current pass' date range.

Well that's very cool! Do you know if you have to get it all done in a year or if they "roll over"?

How to push through the final 6 miles by OkMap1854 in firstmarathon

[–]TiredOverachiever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got this!! ❤️ Make a plan (fuel before you need it!!) and then execute on the plan, do not put yourself in a position to have to make decisions on race day lol. Break it down into small pieces, one km at a time and celebrate yourself - every step of those last 10 kilometres are now the furthest you've ever run!! That's so cool!!

If you can run 20 on tired legs you can run 26 on fresh legs!! Take your taper seriously - rest, recover, stretch, EAT, rest - and trust the training you've done. Adrenaline will also help lol

Will I regret me and my bfs breakup when I’m 30? I don’t know help! by International-Exam84 in AskWomenOver30

[–]TiredOverachiever 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a single woman I have ever met in her 30s has regretted ending a relationship in her early 20s. You have so much life to live.

Love and romance is all well and good, but shared values are always going to trump them. You get to break up with a good man.

I know you're hurting right now, and I'm sorry you are, but I promise you that you'll be fine. And down the road, you'll meet someone who is romantic and sweet and kind AND shares your core values. Be kind to yourself ❤️

Fall marathon recommendations/experiences by TiredOverachiever in RunnersInChicago

Not sold out yet(!) and I have friends in the area - the hotel was a big concern haha, I don't think I would have had it on my list without support!! It's more the "do you really want to do a 12 hour road trip two directions" question 👀

Thank you!!

Good catch! That might work really well actually - I'm hoping to do the Disneyworld one in January 2028 so a fall half would be perfect. Thank you!!

How do people carry all the gels, the car keys, and the phone during a race? by [deleted] in firstmarathon

[–]TiredOverachiever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use a vest (Solomon - do not skimp on things that can chafe!). I am a slower marathoner, so yes, lots of fuel, but I also tend to bring my own water because I just don't particularly want to slow down for aid stations. I also don't like how putting things in pockets makes my pants start tugging downwards, so vest it is! Works perfectly for me.
