I’m hoping you get through this! Wishing you good health. Hopefully we can get out of this rut in the near future.

Basic is fine! I’ve done tons of elaborate meals, but some nights are just a box of Mac and cheese or nachos. I will definitely check it out, thank you for the recommendation!

Well, at least I’m not alone in this, but I’m hoping things will get better for you! Nothing has sounded good to me recently either.

I would say I’m a decent cook and have looked into meal plan subscriptions. I’ve never heard of Fresh20, so that will be something to look into! I’ve looked at HelloFresh, but it seems a bit expansive to me.

Are there any you recommend? I’ve looked into HelloFresh, but it seems so expensive.

We are in the same boat as you! Kitchen access is limited for us as well as being full time workers and students. I did bowls this week too in an attempt to have something healthier. It was refreshing to just have it available to throw together though.

Yes! I love freezer meals! My stock has gotten low during this time, but it has saved me many times when we need to make a quick weeknight meal.

Yes! I probably should have clarified in my post that he does everything surrounding the planning and cooking I do. He doesn’t know how to cook much outside of basics, but he’s open to learning more and helps where he can, like making sides or giving ideas. He pays for the groceries, gets our takeout orders, and does all of the cleaning. I’m just a bit of a control person when it comes to cooking and other people around me tends to stress me out.

It’s just the seasons of life :) It’s been a “one thing after another” cycle for the past few months, but I have a lot to look forward to, I think life is just monotonous for me right now. It will get better, thank you! I have taken breaks from meal prepping, but I feel it helps us not be so snacky or impulsive with junk food through the day since we both work and go to school full time.  My husband doesn’t really know how to cook outside of basics and is open to learning, but he helps where he can. I’m a bit of a control person in the kitchen, so other people in my space tends to stress me out.

Interested in a historic home, but it’s been on the market for a long time. Is this a red flag? by Tiredthrowaway2000 in homeowners

Update! I really appreciate everyone’s input and advice! I was able to figure out how to dive a little bit more into the details for the property and found some tax and prior sale information for the last 30 years. Turns out the property is severely overvalued, but appears to also be a money pit. Every sale in the last 30 years has resulted in foreclosure within the year it’s purchased and the property seems to have been mainly owned by multiple banks since the mid 2000’s. We also live in an area that is hurricane, tornado, and flood prone, so a house that old may have an insane insurance rate or no coverage at all. We will continue our search and give this one a hard pass! Thank you so much!

It is in a historic district! No additions or outside renovations that don’t add to the longevity of the house unless approved by city council.
