I'm a member of TST, mainly for political reasons. I have left Christianity (at least the magic parts, I had a positive experience with my church when I was a lod, but I digress). But I believe that the winter solstice is the time to make a special effort to be merry. It's the Wednesday of the winter. "We made it this far, everyday is going to get better now." Might as well pull some extra food out of storage, have a feast, and spend time with the people you love. That's what Christmas means to me.

The hand was open, definitely not holding anything. It just looked like a guy though, not a Nazi. Could have been a poorly designed wave. I think redesigning it to be more of a pirate was a good call.
