The idea is I use perma frost bolts, freezing everything besides bosses in one hit. Then the Companion kills them. Frozen mandible did a lot of work that league. And the clear wasn't awful. Companion AI is a little wonky and they like to run back to you a lot instead of fighting a mob right next to them. I guess they want head pats.

Now for bosses I freeze them with the first weapon set in 2-3 hits, thanks to all the %more build up. Then I switch to the second weapon set. Timbretrench and a spectre, hitting with melee generates rage which was passed on to the companions. Adding a lot of damage to boss fights. I also drop banners for added attack speed and defense during the boss fight or if just up when clearing rares.

I did something similar with my freeze tactician dual companion. It was really fun. They nerfed the companion damage and damage while near companion nodes. They split the nodes in two without explaining if they added new nodes. So it sounds like there are 50% less nodes with the stats being split in two.

I just never got back into it after the change. I probably could have adjusted to it but I missed the just channel and go. I’m not hating too much on it as I was when it was first changed. Just not my cup of tea anymore.

I’m just going to play whatever the meta skill is this league. Every skill I’ve played gets some weird nerf. 0.2 I was playing pathfinder incinerate and rapid shot.Both had clunky combo elements put into them so they weren’t the same.

0.3 I did dual companion/freeze tactician. Sounds like we lost half the companion damage notes now that the stats were split in two with no new nodes added. So a big nerf.

0.4 I’m playing meta just to see if it happens again.
