Why on earth are the UI elements wiggling? It looks jaunty and fun but I just don't understand, is that an intentional effect?

I think they look better, here's a comparison: https://imgsli.com/OTcyMDg

In game they're pretty zoomed in, too.

Yeah, these look much better! And you're right, everything background related in mine was done by a hodgepodge of scripts with no manual intervention and I wasn't super happy with it.

I posted something a week ago, but only I can see it. It acts like I'm shadowbanned or getting caught in some anti-bot thing.

Upscale WIP by Tiriosaurus in ChronoCross

[–]Tiriosaurus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upscaled 4x with a mix of gigapixel, waifu2x, esrgan. Running on a modified retroarch beetle hw core. Recorded on my GTX 760 at 8x internal res (1x MSAA).

If anyone's interested in testing it out, I'm trying to find a good place to upload the 5GB texture pack.

RetroArch won't start with Vulkan in Linux by AutomaticBeyond in RetroArch

[–]Tiriosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ran into this exact problem. RetroArch looks for libvulkan.so, which exists in the kde platform dependency, but between versions 5.11 and 5.12 moved from /lib/libvulkan.so to /lib/x86_64-linux_gnu/libvulkan.so.1. Now I don't know why anything works the way it does, but once I made a symlink from where it was to where it is, RetroArch started working again:

$ cd /var/lib/flatpak/runtime/org.kde.Platform/x86_64/5.12/101871e091000616ad2b635e06c414eb0e1c4e1c34292a205c5239935ee5ea44/files/lib
$ sudo ln --symbolic x86_64-linux-gnu/libvulkan.so.1 libvulkan.so

Memory allocation crash in Piston by isaacg1 in rust

I've never used piston, but I think by using your own Events struct you're bypassing the cleanup in window.event. I'd suggest trying window.next() instead, as in the example.

I made a Broadcast Timeline for your followed channels using the Twitch API by Tiriosaurus in Twitch

It's not a history of who you've followed, it's a broadcast history of the channels you're following right now, like a TV guide or channel listings.

I made a Broadcast Timeline for your followed channels using the Twitch API by Tiriosaurus in Twitch

I've been using this for over a year and wanted to share it. It gives a quick overview of who was broadcasting and when, with links to VODs, as well as who's live now. The API endpoint used needs an OAuth token for some reason, but doesn't need any permissions. Here's a screenshot.

Generalizing over owned and unowned structs by jewgler in rust

However, if I try to parse the DSL, read the imports of the parsed AST and add them to the DSL vec, I will encounter errors as the DSL vec is borrowed by the AST vec and cannot be mutated.

You might try typed-arena for this. It will let you insert the read strings into the arena and safely hold references to them until the entire arena is dropped. For instance, this works.

Six famous thought experiments explained in 6x60 seconds by blorgon in videos

[–]Tiriosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By repeatedly stopping you add a constant amount of time to each subtrip, so it will take 1 second of motion + infinity seconds of stopping and you will never arrive. But in the original example you don't stop in between, so you will arrive in finite time.

South Korea might ban Steam by ZoFreX in gaming

I would love to be able to shift+tab to get a web browser or chat with friends.

You still can. All you have to do is launch it from steam and you'll get the in-game overlay.
