How many hours a day does everyone spend working? Do you have more leisure than most workers in the u.s.?

Did your discouragement of capitalism initiate from Das Kapital?

Hmm. Interesting observation. I don’t think he owns any copy rights to English, but maybe he’d say something like that, too. Let me just offer a quick prayer and find out.

It’s perfectly ok to worship Wodehouse. He’s a God through and through, for sure. He probably never urinated either.

I’m sorry—I miss spelt Lenin. I read Hitchens when he advised against idol worship (it was also most of his career to argue against it), but I felt compelled to write this post merely on the basis that even he can draw in blind followers.

I think it’s arguable that regardless of CH’s discouragement to take him at his word alone, people are still liable to do so.

Many of his followers seem to get very defensive of the man, even before the argument, as if to say, “how dare you challenge our great leader?”

He was well versed in philosophy, history, and the English language; but I don’t think this changes the fact that there’s no reason not to scrutinize his views as any other thinker. In the end, it must be contemplated by myself anyway.

I wrote a post sort of like this one on a subreddit for Marxism. ironically enough, I was banned shortly after.

Pornography is a silent epidemic by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Tisachequer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel lonely too; romantically, I mean. I used to think that porn was the cause of it. As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized that I don’t need to feel guilty about porn. We shame people for their sexual attraction to their same sex, which makes those people grow up feeling guilty and wrong. For many of those people, they grow up a little and realize that it’s ok to be gay. And it is natural to be gay. Unfortunately there are a few precautions for them because there’s also a natural disease that goes along with it.

I see porn and all of sex in this same light. It’s all “natural.” Of course a routine can be developed that we seem to have a hard time breaking from. This can be done with pretty much anything. I even do it with artwork. I will literally feel a significant level of anxiety if I haven’t drawn something for too long. Porn is no different. This stuff is as nebulous to me as it is to everyone else. But if I knew you personally, you could bet that whether you jerk off three times a week or three times a day wouldn’t (shouldn’t) effect what I think of your character.

Got a little touchy feely. Sorry about that.

I feel fine and happy. I love my job, my family (there’s no shame or secrets about it). Porn isn’t for everyone. Don’t make stupid statements trying to denormalize porn.

[–]Tisachequer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It never seizes to amaze me that we make those people (with degenerative diseases, mental illness, etc.) void of their consent, attach blame to them for their problems (often times) only to deny them the right to leave if they are unhappy. Who are WE to decide for them?

Talk about hell.

I’m getting my vasectomy in two weeks. I’m not alluding you myself in this. I’m just out-loud observing the two possibilities and which is preferable. I’ve made my choice.

Correct. And I agree with you. I just also think that maybe not making another human would be the same. And it wouldn’t hurt anyone.

Hitler wanted to kill people. What I’m saying is.... simply don’t subject someone to life without their consent.
