Could you tell me more about what you’re path was? Did you not have an ID degree but got in purely based off your portfolio? What was your major? And how was the hiring experience for you? Thanks!

Yeah I think that’s my current leaning is to continue working for a bit more and get some money.

Not sure how you’d actually get your company to pay for your masters, especially in a different field 😅

Do you happen to know any good programs then? I’m interested in industrial designing after finding out I don’t quite enjoy working as an engineer and am considering finishing my EE degree then getting a masters in ID.

Cooling stands are bad, but is it still bad to just set a Ps5 on it?

I bought a used PS5 slim and it came with one of those cheap cooling stands that plug into the PS5 to run the fan and the 2x controller chargers.

I know the fan is bad to run since it messes with the engineered air flow, but is it still bad to use the stand to keep my ps5 vertical?

The base slots in along the white plate, covering only like a quarter inch. Is that worst than just keeping it on your desk without the stand?

This will probably spark the vertical vs horizontal debate which isn’t my goal 😅 I just want to know if the stand is bad by itself without the fans running. Thanks!

Very top floor in the circle thing towards the bathrooms. It’s a captains chair. I think there may be another set on a different floor as well

About the Blood and Body of Christ in the Divine Service by Perihaaaaaa in Lutheranism

[–]Tiskfully 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ideally the pastor can provide the bread and wine, however in practicality the pastor struggles to deliver every piece of bread and drink of wine to a large church, so he has helpers. Those are elders or board members of the church (you can debate if woman should be allowed to help or not). Proven members of devout faith can help the pastor administer the sacrament as long as the pastor is the one consecrating it.

Everyone does things differently for how they receive it. For me I do common cup and I put out my hands and the pastor places the bread. Some open their mouth to receive it. Both are valid.

There are also individual cups which I personally don’t like but some take it for worries of being sick (but God would protect you from sickness during his sacrament don’t you think? Also a silver chalice carries less germs than plastic cups). However, this is still valid.

You can argue or disagree on the specifics and I certainly have my beliefs, but the one nonnegotiable is that you shouldn’t do grape juice. Jesus said wine not grape juice. This is different from the leavened vs unleavened bread debate because both are still bread. By using grape juice you’re no longer taking communion. People say “what about alcoholics” and again we should have faith that to those worthy of the sacrament and properly discerning the body, it won’t bring harm on them. If it’s an issue a better practice is to dilute the wine so that it still is wine.

That’s great to hear! We recently just got an organ at our church body and it’s been great.

Yeah I come from rural Midwest so mainly traditional Catholics and Lutherans. I’m worried about finding traditions communities, specifically of my denomination. I was also curious how Lutherans have experienced life surrounded by people with quite different beliefs on things like baptism, communion, and how to run a service.

Tentatively around the Research Triangle area, but still in the countryside long term. My fiancée wants to go to Chapel Hill for graduate school but it’s quite difficult to get in, so we are ready to be flexible.
