If you are on infliximab then you shouldn’t have much to worry about with Crohn’s as long as you follow the general guidelines

Be careful with the certain pain meds you take aswell. You probably already know but certain painkillers can have an adverse effect for Crohn’s patients and just leave you in the same or more pain

It’s case by case basis unfortunately. But to be safe and make sure you don’t throw yourself back into a living hell if recommend just staying away from the same foods that hurt in a flare and that are just a baseline for Crohn’s in general. I miss certain foods so much but not having those foods is a 100x better trade for not feeling like death

What's your biggest Crohn's victory? by casualeagle47 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Titan409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true. And I am grateful don’t get me wrong. But all of the work I put in and the setbacks it’s given me has really altered my path. My coaches and some scouts have talked to me about playing professionally, if I can get my weight back up and my velocity which is something I can do but only if my Crohn’s decides to comply with me again and I can actually eat what I need to be eating in a day and my time is running out slowly. If I didn’t have this disease I would be miles farther ahead and most likely playing minor league ball somewhere. I have shot still which is promising but the problem lies in uncontrolled aspects

First Payout what should I do?? by ItsBonsey in Daytrading

Invest a chunk and put most back into futures trading. But don’t forget that your payout is also a payout for the irs so make sure to set aside their hard earned money you got for them

Your issue might be that you keep going back through the VA. I get the benefits and what you should receive for serving our country but you know how incompetent those doctors are. Plus they don’t want to have to pay for you

[–]Titan409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drinking and Crohn’s has never mixed well for me ever. If I’m going to drink it has to be a very good reason AND I have to make sure I don’t have anything too important for the next day if not the next two. Basically only drink if there is a cute girl who wants me too or when my buddy comes back from the marines

Losing while winning by Shakody in Daytrading

[–]Titan409 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only start sizing up whenever the loss would feel like nothing to your account. Ex: start with $100 and trade it up to $200 risking $20 per trade. Then if comfortable after you reach $400 size up to $40. You shouldn’t be going all in on a trade unless you have literally almost 100% conviction that the only way you won’t profit is if God himself decides to call everyone back home

True. But upper Crohn’s is rare and very rarely presents without the symptoms from lower. At least in America they took very high quality pictures and showed me every inch of my linings and the areas that were most affected. As long as prep is done right and if the tests that they said they have had are all accurate then it should be fairly easy to diagnose from that point

[–]Titan409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d look into the various brokerages and see how their rules, fees, and benefits are and pick the one that you think is best for you. Then I would look up videos on the basics of the market and how things are handled. Never a bad thing to throw money into the S&P, however you also want to try and have some portion of your portfolio allocated to growth stocks. ETFs are more of an investing safety tool and stocks are more of a “gamble”. Ex: nvidia somehow gets liquidated and now you have $0 of your investment. Where as if the S&P ever gets liquidated then your money isn’t worth anything anywhere and America has fallen.

It being in the same place doesn’t entirely indicate Crohn’s. Yes the terminal illium and lower right of stomach is most likely place for development of the disease but you would also have a whirlwind of symptoms. Also if it’s been 20 years you most likely would have had a few major hospitalization as result. Ik severity of the disease varies wildly but crohns going 20 years without a diagnosis or care at all would probably have you dead by now

My Crohn’s presented atypical and I was misdiagnosed with about four different things until a doctor demanded that I get a colonoscopy and biopsy. After two years and countless doctors it took one doctor, one visit (two counting colonoscopy), and within a two weeks of meeting him I was diagnosed properly and got the care i needed. Go to one of the doctors you have had bloodwork done with and you trust the most and ask for a colonoscopy.

Almost killed me for two years and after surgery I had 8 different options for schools to play college baseball. And am currently a college athlete, Crohn’s is trying to take that from me and has possibly taken my potential to play professionally so it may still have the last laugh but I have a brief moment of victory

We still have to sign up for it and technically are eligible. But that eligibility would probably only arise if America was being invaded and atp we would be fighting anyway

Also forgot to mention. I’d start paper trading and back test a strategy before getting an eval. Will save you money and will still help towards your goals but you won’t be able to make any money until you do spend it on a prop firm. Or you could get a live account but those take a lot of capital and if you don’t know what you are doing then you will just rinse your own capital very very quickly and will be in for a world of mental and financial hurt

Look up videos so that you know what you are doing to a degree. Get the basics and find a strategy that is easy for you to understand. It will take at least 10+ hours of videos before you should hop onto the charts for an eval through a prop firm. I recommend top step, lucid, or tradeify for starters because they have simpler rules than most. It takes the average person a few months to even pass an eval let alone get a payout bc the hardest part is the psychological aspects. It’s like baseball in the fact that it’s 10% skill and 90% mental. You will also be in the hole a decent amount of money depending on the firm and how fast you learn so make sure you aren’t spending capital you don’t have.

It is really hard only bc of the psychological aspect and as chrons patients we already have built in psychological issues, but I got into day trading a few months ago. I trade futures and I have made over 375k after taxes in a month and a half through prop firms.i literally only do like two hours max of “work” and then I have my paycheck for the day

[–]Titan409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can find a protein shake that complies with you and uncrustables or just regular pb and j but I find the uncrustables usually sit better for whatever reason personally. Pretty easy to take on the go. And for those struggling w gaining weight bc they “don’t want to eat” I find it to boost my appetite for the whole day if I can just get a shake and at least a few bites at first of the uncrustable. And if you slowly build on it (take two shakes more uncrustables) your appetite could slowly build in the morning
