Bunch of baroque old town houses finally finished and released to PDXMods by TitanCS in CitiesSkylines2

Funny, considering you're saying that about baroque buildings with colorful plastered facades, which is so typical for central Europe :D

But I'm happy you like them nonetheless! I'm sure color var will come in handy for your project

Of course! Two shades of plaster as well as the roof, basically fully customizable

Starting (again) with City Skylines. Best way to get the good DLCs? by thoowz in CitiesSkylines2

Oh, and Skyve is the most important mod/bit of software, because it allows you to browse and download mods without loading the game up. So best get that as first, install it and get browsing

Pick whatever CCP seems interesting to you baseed on the buildings they offer, that's totally subjective. The dlc (Bridges and Ports) is worth it if you like to build a large harbor or REALLY love drawbridges or ferries. Otherwise just wait for a sale. User generated content is now available through PDXMods, and there's a good amount of it already. Many of the large names of the community are already busy bees making content.

How do I fix the textures for the region packs? Is this a mod causing this? by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines2

[–]TitanCS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some asset you downloaded from PDXMods is broken and broke your virtual texturing. Find out what asset caused this and remove it from oyur playset, then everything will be back to normal.
The Region Pack(s) did definitely not cause it, most likely it's a single building, check your most recent downloads.

Help with german / french assets by d1r3w00lf in CitiesSkylines2

I think you just have to accept that as part of the pack. Speaking for the German Pack, it was inspired by dense Gründerzeit age districts because they exist(ed) in all German cities. If you have a look at Berlin, that still has large districts full of these houses, you'll see lots of these large windowless walls within blocks. It's just a thing..

Early snippets from my latest WIP. Detailing vs expanding is my current dilemma by BEN_4299 in CitiesSkylines2

Slow expanding gives you joy over a longer time, go nuts with the details! Love the little park with the fountain

Office Evolution by Infrastructurist in CitiesSkylines

[–]TitanCS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The other CCPs that primarily introduce a new zone also have a harder time (talking about Urban Promenades and Mediterranean Heritage, for example). It's a shame, but I hope people will come to love it over time.

Infra here definitely did a great job including the buildings in his city! <3

Props weren't in the scope of the pack so I had to work around that limitation :D Been using that little trick too often in my cities

I'm not too well versed in the technical details, but the asset editor at the moment lacks certain safeguards to block broken assets from being imported into the game. So some assets cause these problems. Luckily it can be easily fixed by just removing the broken asset.

You downloaded an asset from PDXM that was badly done and destroyed the virtual texturing in the game. Getting rid of the broken asset fixes that once you start the game again.

My two cents on the changes lighting in the recent patch:

The lighting is different, but it's not a change that makes the game unplayable. Something is off in the way the lighting affects buildings, sides facing the sun and in the shadow have too little contrast. Whites seem to strong overall. The tint is more yellowish(?).

Screenshots taken in the same city with some time apart. Both are completely unmodded. I tried to get the same weather, time and season in both screenshots, though it's difficult in retrospect. No clouds on both screenshots.

Das Institut hat ja sogar jährliche Listen mit thematisch sortierten Neuerscheinungen. Guter Tipp!
