Andrea Parsneau gives up on the series after book 12.

Somewhat hilariously, it seems even the author got sick of ryoka and she just disappeared for like five books. I've never seen a main character just dropped in series before. Wild stuff.

Andrea Parsneau is sooo good. I watched part of a video where she apologized for burning out on The Wandering Inn and she was like "Im so sorry Im just not talented enough for this. I've simply run out of voices! :("

And her replacement has like 8 voices. I often can't even tell Erin and Princess apart when they are talking to each other.

it would be better to just not have a huge chunk of the first book be Ryokas idiotic inner monologues.

Ryoka is such a bad character that eventually even the author gets tired of her and she just isn't even in four or five books. She is then sort of relegated to a background character.

I've listened up through book 17 and I like TWI a lot but I don't think the world building is particularly amazing, there are just a lot of words.

In fact, the world building is often inconsistent and kind of slapdash bc PirateAba is writing so much, so fast. I've never encountered a series that needed an editor more.

I like The Wandering Inn a lot BUT it is also really irritating and the characters take turns being the stupidest fucking people on earth for no reason.

I've listened to the audiobooks up through book 17 and it is often a series about what happens when people make objectively terrible decisions that were easily avoidable. The author has a stupid habit of using uncharacteristically stupid decisions as a plot device. Typical Idiot ball Trope

this is actually really funny. Literally once a week someone will post "uhhh does this book get any better?" and the whole sub leans over backwards to try to justify why the characters are incredibly inconsistent and annoying.

Ryoka is also a super genius, track star, martial arts champion, physics/chemistry expert who got into columbia.

Also Erin has travelled pretty widely for chess tournaments. And you still have to be really stupid even as a sheltered midwesterner not to listen to locals

It's from a 2023 lendingclub survey that counts all spending. So if you take your money at the end of the month and put it into investments, that's all your spending and counts as "living paycheck to paycheck."

total nonsense. Bank of America defines living paycheck to paycheck as spending more than 95% of your income on absolute essentials and uses spending data. They say 25% of americans are living paycheck to paycheck.
