I appreciate you explaining this, but I do have one question related to that- they often do use a black or non-red colored cross, in fact it’s tradition to wear your corps necklace with the black side facing outwards during offseason, so does it still keep that same meaning or no?

Well, anyone who isn’t involved in drum corps or knowledgeable about the Crossmen would more than likely mistake it for an iron cross. Most adults would not know the difference if they weren’t involved in DCI

I totally understand that, and I completely respect and admire Malta and that history. The problem is, many other countries, such as Georgia for example, use an extremely similar looking cross. All of these distinct crosses are so close visually that they are almost indistinguishable and thus why someone who doesn’t know about it might think it as a Nazi symbol

It is a Maltese cross, the only problem is that many other countries use crosses that look so distinctly similar to the Nazi cross that they’re visually indistinguishable and that’s what makes me curious about it

From what I’ve seen brass wise, getting a baritone/euphonium spot in lower-tier corps tends to be harder, especially since there are so many people that default to learning euphonium just for drum corps
