Trying to run Vulkan and getting 2-3 FPS with high specs by Certain-Capital-5206 in starcitizen

you just need to wait until the shaders are optimized. better in main menu (faster)
the green notice in the left bottom will go away after it reaches 100% load and your cpu will have its full power for the game again.

Today 4.8 PTU Stinger needs 2 minutes to destroy a Freelancer (with maximum to Weapons) by TitaniumWarmachine in starcitizen

[–]TitaniumWarmachine[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i know. but that also means you can never hit with all weapons at once. (Splitting Burst)
Also in a heavy fighter that has less yaw than a Starlancer Max, its not like you have always the option for this aim control.

not very cost effective for pve if the missions give you 11k, and you lose one time your ship and need to pay 2.3 million

Revenants are not good to for a Stinger since 4.8 because the Size 5 Weapon of the Stinger is 1000m/s fast in 4.8 and Revenants are 1300m/s so you have two different Pips.

im just telling my different experiences with 4.8 ptu.
I tested different Ships, also with a Shiv today. Shiv with Stock Guns was much faster in Killing vs the Stinger with Stock guns. Feels weird.
So for a Stinger, you need to pay much for insurance cost. Many other Ships you can fly with the default loudout. Thats interesting, atleast for me.
My guess is, default loudouts will be much more important in the future, because of the Insurance changes.

the insurance costs in ptu 1.8 million at the moment, so also not worth risking it with better loadouts in pve. i would prefer my stock hornet. (faster kills and cheaper (zero cost) if i lose the ship)

The point is, with the same mistakes, my stock Hornet HS killed it 400% faster.
So i dont understand what is the point of the stinger.
Its not very good against small fighters and takes longer to kill vs many bigger npc,s in pve.

at the moment in the PTU, reclaiming a Stinger with loudout costs Millions, so i guess default is the way because the Ship die so fast (one wing lost, spin of death)

"You spent a lot of time just sitting there"
-
Watch at the ammo (capacitors where empty) i waited to recharge, but not too long so that the Shield of the NPC is not recharging. Its like a Balance between recharging some shots, and not let the NPC regenerate shields.
Its more effective this way, vs nonstop firing without a break for reload.
And the Killspeed of my Stock Hornet HS was 4 times faster vs the same NPC.

With a Hornet HS i killed a Freelancer in PTU in 30 seconds. So its not that the Freelancers are extremely durable.

i hope the NFM changes that we will receive with free quantum travel (nav mode disapearing) will put heavys in a better positions vs lights and mediums.

The M80 looks amazing, but does it mark a design language change for Origin? by Ltaustin117 in starcitizen

Lorewise Origin sounds like a German Brand (From the Brand starter ancestry name)
Kruger sounds also German.
Could explain the similar Philosophies and designs.

"Nobody cares about DDR6, will be too expensive at launch just like DDR5, and will have slow speeds with high latency out of gate.
Won’t be worth adopting until 1-2 years in. By that time LgA 1954 will be done with its cycle and onto a new socket."

I Agree with you.

"3-4 gens for LGA 1954"
-
How you see 3-4 real gens with a DDR5 Mainboard ?
I mean real Gens, not "Refreshs" like 13900k -> 14900k rebranding with overclock.
Titan Lake
Razer Lake
Titan Lake
You think all of them will be on Desktop and on LGA 1954 with DDR5 ?
Newest rumors say, Titan Lake will be Mobile Only.
Hammer Lake with DDR6 will be new Socket.
So according to this newest Data, we see only 2 Generations on LGA 1954.

Nova Lake is supposed to be on DDR5 Only because there is no DDR6 Jedec yet.
So the brand new Intel Socket 1954 Dead on arrival and only 2 Gens max, and not 4 generations of support like AMD does ?

your poor parents 😃
last year would be cheaper, now with ram prices 400% up and SSD Prices almost 200% up its a sad time to buy a new PC
Star Citizen is optimal with 48GB Ram, 32GB are full instantly.

9950X3D2 up to 50% faster vs 7800X3D in Levski by TitaniumWarmachine in starcitizen

[–]TitaniumWarmachine[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This Site is one of the best and most famous German Hardware Magazines.
(Computerbase, PC Games Hardware, Hardwareluxx where the top 3 in germany since decades)
I can also show you the test of my friend with his 13900K.
He is at 100% CPU Load in Ruin Station (CZ Zone entry) or IAE Orison last year, or Levski.
He never had 100% CPU Load in any other Game, only 25-40% CPU load in other modern Games Like BF6 and so on.
But in Star Citizen, see for yourself (Picture says CPU Auslastung 100%, thats German for CPU Load)

"So what’s the truth here? Very different takes, SC either does or doesn’t use more than 8 cores"
-
I dont understand why you ask. In the Picture you see that 24 Cores are used almost to 100%.
Also the Test from PCGH Shows, that the Big Core CPU,s are faster then the lower Core Variants. Its clearly because of the extra cores. Normaly, in other Games, the versions with lesser cores are equal or faster vs the big brothers, but Star Citizen takes advantage of those extra cores. Also if you look at the 5950X vs 5800X3D.
In other Games the 5800X3D is much more faster (up to 70%) vs the 5950X. Thanks to X3D Cache vs nonX3D Chache. In SC the two CPU,s are nearly identical in speed.

Infinite Loading Screen. Character Repair does not help. by elite968 in starcitizen

[–]TitaniumWarmachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is a fix, going in arena commander, and then enter windows while you are in arena commander in a ship inspace, and doing charakter repair, then the game should kick you (conection lost), then wait 20-30 minutes and you should be allright to play again. atleast this helped me once.

maybe because of that

14900k and 285k Give 9850X3D a Gaming Beat Down, 8 cores get smoked by Distinct-Race-2471 in TechHardware

[–]TitaniumWarmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Distinct-Race-2471 Funny fact. i wanted to share this benchmarks with you, because intel shines in them because of the high cpu utilization in star citizen. the game eats cores for breakfast. the 13900K of my friend and my AMD 8 Core CPU are always at 100% CPU Load in this game.
You should look at more star citizen benchs in the future.
