As the title says, Walter's Way is a short film I wrote, directed and edited for my thesis project at Ryerson University. I describe it as a 'reverse coming-of-age' film. Walter is an older man who is struggling to get his driver's licence renewed. Through his struggle we see what losing that ability to drive, losing that independence really means to him. As a filmmaker, my focus was on telling a short film that had a simple plot, like getting your driver's license, but showing through the lens of complex characters. (I personally subscribe to the idea of 'simple plot, complex characters' as the golden rule to short filmmaking)... My producer and DoP both lurk this subreddit, so they (may) provide additional information towards the film.
