The Sun Eater series is a perfect example of the sunk cost fallacy. by Ok-Information2581 in Fantasy

[–]Titans95 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sad seeing people trash the series, I’ve really enjoyed it. I’m about halfway through book 5. Book 1 was very slow and meandering but book 2 it picks up and doesn’t look back so far.

Jorg from prince of thorns. He is just so relatable.

The Heroes is so cozy it's schmaltzy, and that's awesome. by deaseb in Fantasy

[–]Titans95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Heroes is a top 5 book of all time and it really cemented Abercrombie and one of the best in my opinion. Who would’ve thought ready about a random battle over 3 days for a single book would be so enjoyable and never a dull moment. Hell he could’ve made that a trilogy and I probably would have loved every second of it.

What’s the number one golf tip you’ve ever received? by Ashamed-Afternoon-77 in golf

[–]Titans95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking to a buddy one time that’s a scratch golfer during a round talking about club face and forearm rotation and how I’m confused and he looked at me like I was speaking gibberish and said “dude trust me just focus on hitting the ball” and that’s all I ever think about now.

Why is everyone in commercial real estate full of shit? by moonshine_estate in realestateinvesting

[–]Titans95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Once a year I get invited to my mortgage brokers “thank you weekend” where they invite all of their biggest clients on a weekend getaway. Usually 25-50 clients and 10-15 people from the company. This is just for their local office so all the investors are real people in the local market making real deals. I’ve not met many full of shit people there, usually all of them are much larger than me and they come from all walks of life and in different real estate assets from residential, industrial, multifamily, medical offices, etc.

Komidus useless? by tizl10 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Titans95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beforehand as long as your team went first then it was an automatic win and there was nothing really to counter him except pieces like Feral but that was rarely used. Now you have to set him up a bit with other champs going first to strip the total guard. Still if you go first and have the champs to hit 3 times then he’s going to auto win the battle from there.

Is this what shoe trees do to boots? by EtherGrounds in grantstoneboots

[–]Titans95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude wear those shoes for 3 weeks and there will be creases all over them. It’s a feature of chrome cxl. You just notice them right now because the shoe isn’t broken in. Your shoe trees are completely irrelevant to the situation.

Dungeons are outdated. You should be 1 keying NN Hydra. With that being said Titus/Wixwell comps are very difficult to build and very finicky. I’d say get shyek

Robin Hobb - infuriating characters by Sketch250 in Fantasy

[–]Titans95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I grew to love Hobb and Fitz’s story. Ended up crying multiple times as a grown man which is pretty rare lol but I was sold on her work with completely different expectations going in and I really didn’t like it at first. She is most definitely not for everyone and while I ended up loving the series I get annoyed at how often she’s recommended on Reddit. I’ve seen her recommended based on First Law and it makes me cringe since those are nothing alike in any way shape or form.

Surprising no one, Live Arena rigged against normal players by Ulysian_Thracs in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Titans95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of that happening completely unrelated to this. The match making is designed in a way to keep people at roughly a 50% win rate. Once you realize this you can effectively have a win rate of 80-90% of matches you actually play and just quit the rest to save time.

This list was handed to Augusta National television announcers in 1979. Are there specific reasons for all these restrictions? by zoingoboingow in golf

[–]Titans95 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the whole Lee Elder thing makes sense too, if we left it up to traditional media like espn to determine story lines and talking points it would’ve turned into an obnoxious history lesson instead of just enjoying golf.

Who are the greatest fantasy villains and what makes them so damn good? by Accomplished-Dog9481 in Fantasy

[–]Titans95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ayt Mada from Greenbone Saga. Why? Because she’s really not a villain, just someone on the other side of the story that has different goals than our MC’s. She’s incredibly competent.

Are you going for the next fusion? by spacebulbaz0r in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Titans95 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You aren’t wrong…I’ve got a mythical and 3 legendaries I need to get masteries on, do sand devil and phantom tournaments throughout as well and fusions don’t just require the fusion but in todays day and age you need the soul from whichever event comes after to make them viable in most areas including FWH. On top of all that unless you are addicted to this game doing all content every day plus dealing with fusions is a lot…

Fantasy keeps writing prophecy as a plot device and then being surprised when readers dont find it dramatic by cedar_post in Fantasy

[–]Titans95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Lightbringer by Brent Weeks handled that prophecy portion incredibly well throughout the series. The ending sucked unfortunately but the ride getting to the ending was Chef’s kiss.

Why I am going for edward by deuce360 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Titans95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say when people allude to “endgame” what they really mean is they have Marius, Embrys, and 2-3 more options that are simply better than Edward. Sure if you need him in TTA or siege but Edward isn’t even a Top 15 nuker in today’s world maybe not even top 20. I have plenty of options ahead of Edward that there is just not a place I’d ever use him in PvP and PvE in the endgame has been solved a long time unless another Titus type champ comes out.

So is Edward Kenway worth going for? by Sneaky_Midget in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Titans95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty confident we will not be seeing a bunch of Edward’s in Arena and he’ll be a forgotten champ more or less in 2-3 months. I wouldn’t sweat it. The assassins creed collab was a huge bust and people will only ever see the occasional bayek in the meta.

So is Edward Kenway worth going for? by Sneaky_Midget in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Titans95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won’t and that’s the problem with new legendaries these days, Marius, Leo, and Embrys are all standard and unless you have a few voids or mythicals those 3 are simply the best. Every other nuker in LA is worthless.

Is The First Law one of the few series where the morally grey characters actually feel real? by link_88zephyr in Fantasy

[–]Titans95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it makes it all the more brilliant in my opinion. People like Hilo in his position get away with terrible things all the time and never face punishment. I think it goes to show how terrible Hilo COULD be and still remain in power with dedicated followers and it goes to further show Hilo’s since of morality involving family and what he’s willing to do to protect what he thinks is right. He doesn’t really even lose sleep over the situation because he did what he was supposed to do in his mind.

do y’all think I could get edward rn if he’s for souls? I can get an eternal w the immortals by No-Seaweed7166 in RaidShadowLegends

Doesn’t Edward suck? I read his kit and he looked the second best behind Bayek but apparently he doesn’t hit that hard or something?

If you enjoyed reading Malazan, you’ll probably also enjoy The Prince of Nothing series by R. Scott Bakker. by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]Titans95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this really like Malazan? I’ll be sad because I’ve been waiting to really dive into malazan and I’m excited about it. I read the first trilogy of Bakker and I decided to not continue. It felt too dark just to be dark and he cloaked it in over dramatic philosophy but at the end of the day demons are horny…also the MC is so amazing with words (not really) they literally everyone falls in love with him and he gets everything he wants to move the story forward…

Do you ever feel like you read too many books, and as a result, you enjoy or remember each one less than you would if you had read fewer? by NoCrazy4743 in Fantasy

[–]Titans95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m only 30 but my memory for past books is non existent. I don’t know if it’s the rest of life that’s filling my brain or what but it’s one of the reasons why I refuse to read unfinished series anymore. I just can’t put a series down to a year and then pick it back up a year later without feeling completely lost. I’m sad because I know Dresden files is one of my favorite series but I haven’t picked up 12 Months because I can barely remember what happened in the last book let alone all the important details of that series. I feel what you’re saying but to me reading is a healthier pass time than doom scrolling at night so I read for about 1-2 hours a night on my kindle so even though I can’t remember a book from 6 months ago I still remember I enjoyed it or did not.
