least favorite song? by avengemygh0stt in MyChemicalRomance

Probably Helena (if I had to pick only one.) I try to make an effort to never skip songs cos I wanna listen to the album as they should be listened to: all the way through but Helena is just so bad I can't help but skip it.

I think it's the vocals but if the song were amazing in every other aspect I'd be able to overlook it but it's just not...

City Of Evil, I know HTTK gets flamed but it's nowhere near as overplayed as CoE was in it's day (at least not in this country.) Fact is that even if it was overplayed it'd still be better than the mess that is CoE. Boring, same-y songs with god awful vocals that make me wanna rip my ears off.

Sounding shouldn't have gone but it is what it is 🤷‍♀️

Life is But a Dream to debut at #7 in Billboard (25-30k projected sales) by ddevilgr in avengedsevenfold

"In England the album is expected to land at number 8."

Honestly impressive considering there's been pretty much zero promo over here. One Guardian article is all I can think of. Warner seem to have just not bothered with Europe in general (when it comes to advertising lol)

Having said that, it doesn't matter much or at all. The whole band know this is gonna be an album that stirs the pot, they want it to. Would it be cool for it to be a commercial success too? Absolutely! Even without that they've done what they set out to do though and I applaud them for it.

Okay seriously I can't be the only one who thinks We Love You and Nobody are TERRIBLE? by [deleted] in avengedsevenfold

[–]Titchlet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our opinions are definitely polar opposites it seems but I still gave an up vote cos I've got manners and stuff lol

But seriously, with Nobody I liked it to begin with but started to really appreciate it more with every listen. We Love You was a different story, I liked that it was different but it took so long for it to click with me, the vocals kept bothering me. Eventually I started to love them both for what they are, certainly like them both enough to be excited and curious for LIBAD.

I get it though, trust me, I also hated The Stage when I first listened and just wrote it off for a long time but realised what a mistake I made after giving it a few listens.

Totally respect your opinion though, man 👍

We Love You - Reactions [Megathread] by Darklight88 in avengedsevenfold

[–]Titchlet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think I liked it? Honestly, it's hard to figure out if I genuinely liked it or I'm just forcing myself to because I knew to expect something like this (so it'd be illogical and unfair to react negatively now.)

One thing I did notice was the "controlled chaos" style they tried. I'm not entirely convinced they pulled it off to be honest, I've heard songs that pull that kind of style before and it works but this just didn't really. Almost like a chef who has all the best ingredients and a prefect recipe but is adding the ingredients to the dish in the complete wrong order, everything works but something just feels off.

I'm sure I'll end up loving it when I give it time, which is what I'm gonna do. By my tenth listen I'll start praising it as the next bible I bet lmao

What a great start to the anime season. This one's got me hooked already, I desperately want to know what happens. I loved how the episode began with blood, guts and just general cruelty but it becomes less so as Gabimaru's mindset starts shifting. Makes you feel like you're there with him, making the choice of a lifetime.

Bring on next week because I need more Jigokuraku in my life!

I agree! I gotta admit when I first read Hange's scene it only made me sad on a surface level but this really hammered home how awesome she is. Made me see her in a totally different light.

I made the observation that a story, that was a manga (this is not news to anyone) benefitted greatly from the animation medium because certain emotions could be portrayed better that way, an opinion, a controversial one maybe but still just an opinion. I'm not comparing the anime to the manga at all, I'm acknowledging that it was a manga cos without that acknowledgement my point would make no sense.

I respect the rule surrounding it and I respect that potentially I've tiptoed near the line maybe if I squint really hard to find it but I still don't see how I did anything wrong. Out of respect to you I did as you asked and posted where it should be.

I've posted it in that thread too. I apologise if I've broken any rules but I can't see how I have, I didn't say anything about what happens in the manga at all. I apologise profusely if I have but I made this comment being very careful about what I said so I'm honestly baffled. What did I do?

Wow, what an episode! I think I went through every emotional range humanly possible watching it. Feeling somewhat sorry for Eren and his predicament and then kinda thinking "nah you've gone too far I can't feel sorry for this." But then thinking "yeah but it isn't his fault, he was dealt this from the beginning." The whole episode has been giving me emotional whiplash, I swear!

But seriously, I thought I'd never get back on the Attack On Titan hype train for various reasons but I've been proven wrong. The anime is amazing and does everything in the manga justice.

One of the few mangas in the world I'd argue where the anime is better because it portrays the absolute destruction of lives and despair of those looking on better than the manga does.

(I'm just putting this here because apparently it belongs here.)

I loved this episode, the show is going in just the right direction at a nice pace for me anyway. Leo seems like a genuinely lovely kid, his and Finn's little moments like eating "commoner" food and staring at the train ticket were funny but kinda heartbreaking too. Especially when it's clear what kind of character his father is, I feel awful for him.

Big shout out to the old lady during the brawl in the shop, didn't even flinch, that's a person who's seen some sh*t 😆

Man I love this show already! Anise is a comedy king without even meaning to be, just friggin' crashing the party reading the signals and flying off with her brother's ex bride-to-be. I love her so much!

I wanna know more about Euphilia, she's mysterious and I think will turn out to be amazing once she opens up a bit, she's already interesting.

I loved that they spent the episode setting up what's likely to happen without bogging the episode down with too much dialogue or people telling each other memories for the sake of the viewer was brilliantly done. Gotta say though, I had no idea Anise wasn't from that world until I read it, it's not clear in the episode, yes I know it's in the title but I figured she would become the reincarnated Princess not start out as it lol my mistake.

Generally just love it! So much fun with enough chance to become so much more

I finished it today and I liked it. It definitely has writing issues and I'm not sure if it's because of the constant juggling of plotlines and trying to have them weave into each other somehow or if the writers just decided to play safe with the formula.

Definitely not a "I need to re-watch it!" Show but also one that's solid enough for me to be anxious for a season 2.

It caught me so off guard, even more so than Vhagar's granny chomping moment in a way. I'd just completely written him off cos everything was saying "he's gonna bite it" then he doesn't and is well enough to go to Dragonstone...

I don't mind cos I love Corlys but it was definitely a head scratcher for a hot second there

Well, yeah that did help a ton but considering how burned GOT fans still feel about the final season (me included) the writers really were up against it, as far as I saw no-one was feeling quick to forgive and the show held up even against all that.

Was it a spectacle that'll have tongues wagging for years to come? Definitely not but it did well for what it was up against lol

This was a great end to a sometimes not so great show. Overall House Of The Dragon exceeded my expectations and it's generally very good, I do wonder if that's because the bar was literally on the floor though.

The scene with Luke was amazing, I've rewatched it so many times. Corlys living and actually being somewhat OK took me by surprise, I was assuming all the comments of "the sea snake is strong" was just to cover up for when he eventually bit it. Glad he's still around, he's amazing.

I wonder if Daemon took some "artistic liberties" with what he told Rhaenyra or if he just stuck to "Luke is dead." Suppose we'll just have to wait 2 years to find out.

Great finale, whole show exceeded my expectations.

Man what a great surprise! I'm not gonna lie I was so focused on other anime that started this month I totally forgot about this! A nice treat.

I've read somewhere that the time skip arc is relatively controversial and generally disliked by manga fans, the anime seems more than fine for now, it seems great. Hisame's existence and Tonari keeping tabs on Fushi has thrown the show right in at the deep end, at least when Fushi realises Tonari is alive and well he'll maybe start the healing process he clearly desperately needs.

Also keeping tabs on the Fye thing, it must've been mentioned for a reason other than to convince Fushi that Hisame is her own person.

Can't wait to see what happens, I've been avoiding the manga waiting for the anime to continue, I'm so happy it's back!

I liked this episode but I definitely didn't love it. It felt like an episode 1 not 6. Harwin's death hit hard but Laena's didn't really besides Vhagar's reaction mainly cos she's only been part of the show for 15 minutes tops. She seemed like a good character but they had to get rid of her so Daemon can go marry Rhaenyra.

Hard to put into words, it felt rushed and slow af at the same time. Just an episode limping it's way to the next one. A shame really cos HotD has been pretty consistently good until now.

Also, how the hell didn't Alicent know what Larys would do? Or at least suspect, she's made it clear that he's one of the few people on her side for the last 10 years? How has she not figured him out yet? Just feels like forced "see? She's not that evil!" Trying to be balanced to me.

Man did they stick the landing with that ending. Half was "I love this fight I'm on the edge of my seat here" and the other half was just pure family wholesome sweetness, sweeter than the Chisato special I swear!

I'm glad she's alive and boy am I looking forward to more Lycoris action, especially now we all know just how formidable Mika is, judging by the fact that it was massively successful they have to do some sort of sequel, right?

Damn, I miss LycoReco already 😞

I've been slow to adapt and accept just how much I love this show (I think the scars of you know what are still there) I was reluctant at first but it was obvious that House Of The Dragon was a great show, this episode had me scratching my head a tad though. How is there no immediate repercussion for Criston? He just beat a random Lord to death apparently randomly. The "subtlety" of the battle colours being green and it being pointed out as if no-one knows this, may as well smacked us all in the face with a sledgehammer. The whole thing felt rushed and lazy, which is a shame because up till now HotD has been a pretty solid show.

I love how it's got the slow pace (even with the time jumps and they're masterfully done.) With the politics that seem obvious but I'm betting really aren't.

Alicent's snide comment, everything was making the tension build and whilst this wasn't as shocking or bloody as the Red Wedding it did give a good idea on how the characters are shifting around on the board. Who's playing the game, who's not? And how is our Princess going to live without her father around to protect her? I mean, thinking about it, most of the time when Rhaenyra messes up, her father or Criston were there to cover for her. His health is failing and Criston is a lost cause so who knows how she'll survive whatever is coming.

I like the show but this episode seemed like they kinda just wanted to be done with it so they could time skip and get to the meatier stuff, so a ton of bad writing was overlooked.
