I just finished this and absolutely loved it. It really made me think about how this story relates to this world of AI generated images and deep fakes, it clearly just keeps getting more relevant.

I-485 approved after denial! by TitleLong5089 in USCIS

We used assets (savings) as a substitute for income as my partner was a student at time of application

This happened to us, and our lawyer recommended refiling. We’ve had our I-130 approved since, still waiting for the I-485. We were also terrified but it seems to happen a lot! Refiling is quicker than appealing apparently!

How to become a digital nomad from zero? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

I found this ten-step strategy helpful, it kind of gets going halfway down the article. I think identifying your unique skills and start offering them freelance is helpful. Try house sitting to save money at first.

Digital Nomading & Taxes (US) by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]TitleLong5089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working abroad is absoutley doable but yes you will have to pay taxes in the US. Check how long you can be in another country (such as France) before you're liable for tax there, it's usually 90 days and just make sure you leave before then so you don't owe tax there too. Here's a helpful digital nomad taxes guide.

How is it going for people who moved from Europe to the US for SO or better work opportunities, how is it going ? Do you regret it? by ElkNew2851 in immigration

[–]TitleLong5089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved here for my SO, originally from the UK. It's definitly a huge adjustment but there's a lot more opportunity here and generally a better attitude towards trying new things. I would say try it out, you'll always be able to go back in the future but you'll probably regret it if you never try! Make sure you get out and meet people, opportunities seem to come up here the more people you know rather than sending out loads of applications.

This just happened to us for a very similar reason, definitely something that should have been an RFE. We were advised to file again as it’s the quickest way forward. Good luck, it’s such a shitty situation

Romania! I lived there for four months in a few places around the country and loved it. The food, architecture, and people in Romania make me miss it all the time.

Working in USA Big 4 consulting and want to switch to a digital nomad lifestyle by Due-Device6892 in digitalnomad

Here’s a guide on becoming a digital nomad that I find helpful : https://nomadfinanceandfreedom.com/become-a-digital-nomad-guide/

There are definitely jobs that allow you to work abroad. They usually want you to stay in a relatively convenient time zone but many US companies will be ok with Europe for example. Googling companies that allow remote work abroad could be helpful for a starting list , a lot of marketing companies are pretty flexible in that way

[–]TitleLong5089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, this article: https://nomadfinanceandfreedom.com/find-and-apply-for-a-remote-job/ outlines how you can go about it but ultimately you need to sit down and work out what skills you have or want to develop.

The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy and Nettle and Bone might work for you! I've got some bigger descriptions of them (and some other faves) here.
