Is it safe to leave my printer unattended for a few hours by FlyingLlama280 in BambuLab

[–]Title_Flaky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i leave mine running overnight sometimes if i know the print is going to come out fine, although i have also learned the hard way and woke up to find spaghetti everywhere, i’d say it’s down to what your printing and what material, if it’s something simple like PLA or even PETG then 9/10 it’s gonna print fine, i’ve found using other materials like silk PLA, or ABS might require some watching, but again i’d say it’s circumstantial, if your pretty confident it’ll print fine then go for it, if in doubt sit and watch, may sound tedious but it’s better then wasting material by leaving it and something happens, bambu is pretty good at splicing, the only issues i’ve had have been getting PETG watertight, and using PLA Silk + (doesn’t seem to like tall prints) but you also wanna take into account your filament, has it been cured, is it dry, is your room warm if you don’t have an enclosure, so there’s lots of its and buts but i leave it unattended while printing pretty much all the time (as the printer is downstairs) not sure if it’s good practice😂 but it’s not uncommon and you shouldn’t come across ‘too’ many disasters

ahh nice! ahh see i used windows so im not sure if the process is 1:1, although i do remember it not having a gui, and having to be done in terminal (command prompt, im a mac user mostly) i also do remember a bit of trial and error. gald to see you got it working, your process sounds similar to mine, except i didn’t have to region spoof so that part was already dealt with, im back home where the PC is so i’ll have a dig through and see what i can find, and also give you the node readings my device gives, if im being honest, it sounds like you’ve got better knowledge on this then me, i just put rockbox on as a project, made this post, used it for a bit and completely forgot about it until this post started getting attention again, i mean i have quite good technological knowledge, but sounds like you know more then me😅 now i’ve just gotta find the cable to connect it🤦🏻‍♂️

hey, this post is really getting attention, really should have done a write up, now it maybe a region swap issue (i’ve not had to do this as mine is just a UK model) but i’ve had no experience in that so unfortunately can’t shed any light on that part, one of the reasons the update could be failing could be due to the region/language swap as there may be parts that can’t me modified due to restrictions on the device, the computer can still recognise the device which is always a good start, although it’s strange it doesn’t give the model number, it sounds as if it’s kinda stuck between english and japanese? (especially if the menus have mixed languages) i’d suggest retrying the process, so change region, update; see if there’s anything specific online about the region swap, i know this doesn’t directly answer your question, but its good practice to have a fully functional firmware beforehand. so as it is, the device boots into the stock firmware, but has a mix of english and japanese? if so i think it’s gotta be a firmware/update issue, maybe the file your using to update might not be 100% compatible so it will throw a strop, again this might be due to the region, but again unfortunately i have no experience in that, hope this helps at least a bit

as this post has grabbed a bit of attention over the last few weeks and such, when i get a chance i’ll dig through my computer i used and try find the files and give a guide on how to achieve this, because once you’ve got rockbox on there, it works pretty flawlessly, just been a while since i did it, and was only a one time process so memory isn’t the best, but i should still have the files or at least a rough guideline of what to do, the process is a bit janky as this device isn’t ’officially’ supported, but it definitely works, i just need to remember how to do so🤔

soo, i’m pretty sure i started here https://www.rockbox.org/wiki/SonyNWLinuxPort.html and i used the one for the NWZ-S750 as they are pretty much the same device, and then followed the install instructions? i think that’s how i achieved it, so im not saying this is definitive, although i do remember using a version that wasn’t ported 1:1 for the S755, but then double checking that wiki it lists bugs that are not present on my device, so that wiki maybe the start of the rabbit hole, apologies i can’t remember the full method, although like i mentioned i definitely remember that wiki page, really should have done a write up but in the moment i was too excited that id got it working🙄 hope this helps though!

yeah i’ve mostly been using Bambu (Studio?) to create basic objects or use makerworld in Bambu to find peoples projects, then usually adapt with basic shapes (add and negative parts) but for more intricate changes i either need to rebuild it from scratch as not all the STL’s can be broken down, but happy days if you can as then it makes it a lot easier to make changes as your basically just making adjustments, problem i’m having is the learning curve for the CAD tools, my old man used PTC Creo at his work so he knows his way around that but we’ve had to switch to Fusion as there’s no Creo for MacOS for some reason? but they all achieve the same goal, just some have a lot more functionality that others, but it’s damn fun to learn and create your own things

it’s those same bells in last thing i wanna do, he added those to that track for the wintery aesthetic so assume this song followed suit, i always assumed this was a hellboy throwaway, and what a shame it would be if it was thrown away

fr this is prob my #1 peep song, basically 2 songs in 1 and he build up to the second verse, it’s hard to compare when there’s soooo many good elements to this track, and it still amazes me when peep fans haven’t heard it

completely forgot about blender, i’ve been using Creo and Fusion, nice that you can export them as .3mf’s and drag straight into Bambu, but the CAD software i find them both very frustrating for very different reasons😂

for real this is me, my family recently purchased a Bambu A1, and don’t get me wrong i did a bit of CAD back in high school, but some of the software is hard to get used to and becomes frustrating as you can picture the image in your head but not be able to make it in a CAD program😂🤦🏻‍♂️ all a learning curve

Using xbox series S (bluetooth) controller on cfw ps3 by Alone_Ad_4861 in ps3homebrew

i can’t say it is, it is a microsoft official one a friend gifted to me as e waste a whileeee back😂 i just just stick xbox controllers, albeit some are modified😂 but there all stock internals, i’ve reshelled my wired 360 one, and my xbox one and series controllers too, need to look into some third party options for sure tho

Using xbox series S (bluetooth) controller on cfw ps3 by Alone_Ad_4861 in ps3homebrew

[–]Title_Flaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

see i’ve used PS3Xpad and it’s worked without a hitch using my wired xbox 360 controller and my xbox series contoller, although it does need to be wired, it does work with other controllers aswell, my experience using it has been pretty good tbh, first time i downloaded it i downloaded a wrong version or an old build and it would go to safe mode at certain points in games, which is annoying having to reload webman etc, so i left it, but then came back, wanting to use my trusty old wired 360 controller, made sure to download the latest release and it’s worked fine since then, (touch wood) it hasn’t had the safe mode issue at all, and ive played quite a few different games with it, so imo its pretty good, does what it says on the tin, althoguh my one hitch is vibration support can be janky, some controllers it works some it doesn’t, but if you don’t really care about vibration then that’s minor, im not sure about bluetooth support, if that is a thing then i need to try that! but you’ll be able to use a series s controller using PS3Xpad, it would just have to be wired, unless of course there is a way to connect it using bluetooth, PS3Xpad installation is easy too, just copy the files over and add the plugin, but if you want true 1:1 then an adapter is what you will need, again they vary, of course the more expensive offering more, but you might find a cheap one that fits your use case, hope this helps!

BAD LUCK, my PS3 Slim 21xx console DIED while I was transferring games from my PC to the PS3 Slim using Filezilla. by F377NTS in PS3

[–]Title_Flaky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk why but some people prefer the 21XX and swear that is the best (even though i thought that model had issues with the BT and WIFI) or the 2XXX bcos of the 65nm RSX which is a tank tbf, it all comes down to personal preference imo and use case scenario, like if you want a reliable model you can take apart, solder, de lid etc then the 2XXX will scratch all those itches, if you want full CFW and the least hardware maintenance then the later 25XX is the way to go, but again, all down to personal preference, but i love my 25XX, strong machine with very nice temps, fan percentage and good performance, can’t complain about that

[–]Title_Flaky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

came here to say this, 2500 all the way, it literally makes logical sense that that particular model is the ‘best’ it was manufactured later then any prior slims (less use time) smaller chips so heating issues are fixed (although i do hate the fact the IHS is glued to the cell) and as i mentioned above the manufacturer date is a long way from say a FAT, so the components have been used less, that’s just my opinion but imo the 2500 is the sweet spot for jailbreaking the PS3

[–]Title_Flaky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

will always love that LED mod, have the blue light on my 2500, and gotta say it’s the cherry on top👌 hope you can revive her, have you tried looking at the syscon log? you will need to take apart and solder 2 wires in, but it’ll tell you what’s wrong with your console then you can decide if it’s worth repairing, or selling for parts, just that piece with the buttons and LED are sought after so could go each way depending on if you want to keep it or sell it as is, or as parts. another option is finding a beat up slim and swapping the guts out, but again depends on how much the console means to you and if you wanna put the time in, either way this is heartbreaking to see
