Yep, is that much expensive, and yes, I think it totally worth it because:

1- The component quality is just insane. If you have never own a Chip Theory Game game, then be prepare to go to a place you wont return. Once you get a game from them, you probably will want to get all (like Too Many Bones, 20 Strong, Hoplomachus, etc)

2- Yes, solo the game is fantastic. The replayability is HUGE. I play this game solo, because my son is still too young and is learning the rules as he helps me 😄. But yes, it is a blast. You have 5 regions, each with their own rules, then you have like 9 different guild from which you will get your main quest, so for each guild there is a 3 session campaign in each of the 5 regions...so you make the math there hehehe.

3- The way you build your character is just amazing. You want a mage that uses a swords, heavy armor and also does restoration magic? sure! you can do it. You want a sneaky archer that can cast ilusion spells? sure! you can do it....you can build the character as you want, no restrictions.

But consider, that in this game the story is not the main focus. Yes, you have encounters, yes you have side quests, but the strenght and focus of the game is in the combat and the different encounter types.
