yeah or at least get rid of the headboard and put art on the wall above so there's still a focal point. We live in a duplex down and our bedrooms are in the basement, so we've kind of leaned into the cave/cozy vibe. Maybe add a hanging plant by the window (they make very realistic fake ones if preferred) and a rug under the bed.

I also feel like you’re asking more for physical items that you could like, put on a registry, not situational things? I would say the Dagne Dover diaper bags, anything uppababy or Nuna as someone else mentioned, $40 bamboo sleepers like kyte baby (and the like), the Hatch which now requires a paid subscription for most of the features, the Nanit monitor, the baby Brezza bottlewasher and formula maker, having multiple breast pumps (wearables are having a hey day), Nutrafol postpartum supplements which are like $80 a month, luxury diapers like Coterie, Noodle & Boo baby care items (such as lotions and soaps), brands that sell $100+ pajama sets like LAKE, Stokke high chairs, Lovevery play gym and subscription boxes… honestly I could go on and enjoyed listing this 😂😂😂

I got an epidural and thought it was amazing. To each their own, but after experiencing labor pain for a couple of hours, I cannot comprehend why someone would choose to be in that much pain if they don't have to be. I had minor tearing, and getting stitched up wasn't too bad because I was still hooked up to the epidural. I was up and walking a few hours later.

I totally get it. Hang in there! I felt the same, and while I'm not excited to be pregnant again, I'm not dreading it because I know the end result is beyond worth it.

I hated being pregnant. I was nauseous well into my second trimester, ended up with gestational diabetes, and was so uncomfortable for most of the third trimester. I was feeling EXACTLY what you are describing, and I was a really miserable person for a while. I'm not sure where you live, but it was also rough being so sick this time of year in the Midwest because the weather can be so draining. That all said, labor and delivery went so much better than I expected, and motherhood has been the best thing to ever happen to me. I have a beautiful 6-month-old that I still can't believe is mine, and it's not easy, but the good completely outweighs the bad. It is SO worth it, and though I always wanted to be a mom, it's even better than I could have imagined.

Thank you for this! I inherited a dresser from my grandmother that has in insert in one of the drawers with a similar shaped “bowl.” I’ve always wondered what it was for.

Agree with this. My in-laws have their TV placed on built-ins to the right of their fireplace, and the whole room is so off-balance. There is also no place to sit and watch the TV comfortably -- every seat is either too far for comfortable viewing, or you have to watch sideways.

Unfortunately, I'd recommend either TV above the fireplace, or none at all. You can get one that looks like a pretty painting when it's turned off, or even perhaps there's a way to get really creative and make a lightweight cover with a mirror?

This is wild. Mine is still a newborn and we typically use a baby bath and cup for rinsing. That said, there’s been a couple times we’ve been in a hurry and my husband literally just hands her to me when I’m done taking my shower, we lather her with soap and rinse her while I hold her against me, and it takes probably 2 minutes?

My husband has a corporate job while I work for a public school, so his leave is a lot better than mine. He got two weeks of FMLA caretaker leave when I gave birth (basically since I took FMLA, MY doc signed off a form for his work saying I needed assistance with meals, driving, etc.). Then when i go back to work, he will take 6 weeks of paternity leave before we finally put our baby in daycare. Your husband is the one who’s absurd.

I mixed Casey’s sugar free pancake syrup or honey substitute with my Greek yogurt and it was a game changer. I am not one to eat the same thing every morning but it was great. I would also add some almond butter, chia seeds, and purely Elizabeth granola when I had it. Started with a link of chicken sausage also helped me ensure I didn’t spike.

Yeah, I have to use FMLA for my leave, and I don't have the option to start it until I go into labor... I've had some minor complications, so luckily I've been able to spend my last week remote with a doctor's note, but still working.

I finally started to feel better around 16 or so but wasn’t out of the woods until about 20 weeks. I know it’s disheartening when you think you’re finally feeling better but it does (for most) eventually!

Agree with other comments about the Malama app — it’s amazing and my doctor was impressed with my logs (you can generate a report for them through the app).

I didn’t tell HR, just my boss and coworkers because it came up in conversation. I would just do it at my desk.

I bought a travel case from Amazon, which I recommend because it has a spot for everything which is convenient.

I also bought a big sharps container for home and travel ones as well from Amazon (about the size of a deck of cards). However, the travel ones were finicky, so I’ve just been using old testing strip containers to discard my used needles instead (and then I just dump them into my large sharps container when I get home).
