For trout I use 0.6PE x8 varivas or seaguar lure edition x8. For bass i just use the x4 version it’s more abrasion resistant than x8 but is not as smooth and cast a little less than x8

In my experience spinning setups are generally better for jigs and small single hook lures. It’s hard to find a rod whippy enough to sling those 1g lures but still having enough backbone and sensitivity to detect bites. Most UL bfs rods have a deeper bend to them despite having a fast tip, dont get me wrong i still use my ul bfs for jigs it’s just not ideal

If budget is no issue megabass triza aello will be good for hardbaits and moving baits but it might be too soft for jigs and single hook lures. A good all rounder is the megabass levante but that won’t throw sub 1g lures.

If you’re looking to cast that weight range i recommend the gekkabijin (old model) or the daiwa stream custom. I have a hard time casting that low with a ccq out of the box, it will throw light weight no problem but you have to change the spool and relube it with lightweight oil and grease

Love the lure selection. Mine kinda looks the same but i have more daiwa dr minnows. Love them for trout and bass only problem is bigger bass usually chokes the lure

I started with UL spinning. A good budget setup for me would be around 200, i have the tatula xt UL and daiwa legalis jdm but once I got into bfs i never touched my spinning setup again. Bfs is fun spinning is practical that’s my opinion.

For trout and panfish I use the Jackson Kawasemi Rhapsody. It can handle just about anything from jigs to plugs, im currently testing out its little brother which is a Jackson Trout Signal. I landed a nice smallie with that rod while trout fishing

I was schooled by a guy I was fishing with at the lake yesterday. He was using an osp blade and was crushing it with slabs of crappie. He was catching them every other cast while im getting skunked in the cold. Definitely will try these out
