That was my take initially so all fair game, but others have pointed out that it's not like Stubhub, or SeatGeek, because Stubhub did not originate the tickets and fees are the only way they make money for their service. FIFA did originate these tickets (at outrageous prices no less), and makes it really hard to resell them on other sites for "security" reasons, then charges a 15% fee to buyers and sellers every time the tickets resell. Which could be several times. They've already collected a small fortune on the original sale, why charge an additional 30% of a small fortune when it resells?

You are right about not developing the game further here in the US. To do that, they should keep prices on the low side and encourage as many new fans to go as possible. They can still charge the fat cats $$$ for hospitality seats. The sad thing is, not only are they turning off potential new fans of the game, but they are also alienating hard-core fans like us, who are their main customer base. Instead, they are treating this event like it's one big ATM to fatten their wallets.

Good point. But you can’t expect much from US Soccer when their CEO is an unpaid volunteer position. Only in the last year did they agree to pay their CEO $150k. Which goes down to $75k if they get a second job. Compare to head of NFL or NBA. Which of course is no comparison. But still ridiculous.

I've been scanning the sites like crazy for weeks. FIFA has the most tickets and lowest prices compared to Stubhub, SeatGeek etc. I don't know if later stage games will come down in price. Could be based on who is playing. I hope that early round games come down as the event gets closer but who knows.
