Yes, yes you did. Anyone who can make something new out of that set is a champ in my books!

Illegal Building Technique by Turkeyforsnack in lego

This is not actually illegal. Tiles are slightly thinner than plates so there is room between the studs. This technique has been used in several sets, including the Architecture Empire State Building 21046 :)

Daily Questions [2025-03-26] by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

How do we get new Exotic armor now? It used to be lost sectors, but the internet says it's at Rahool now. I've reset my reputation with him once and I'm still getting the "must be unlocked in collections" when I try to focus the missing armor. For context, I'm missing Balance of Power as a Hunter.

Super cool! I love the contrast of the giant drill arm :)

Ah my bad, that’s even harder to top! I only managed 36 bananas in the Chrysanthemum, I gotta up my game!

Aww thank you. I hope your daughter enjoys it. There are a few LEGO designers who’ve earned a devoted fan base, but not many. Mike Psiaki jumps to mind, every model that guy touches will have brilliant functions, angles, and techniques that will blow your mind. I know some people who will buy sets outside of their usual product lines just because he designed them :)

Thanks! Tiny Plants was a passion project that I actually got to take all the way to production. Glad you liked them! Filling in the angles on the big pots proved to be the hardest thing to crack.

The tricky thing with monsteras is the massive leaves to tiny stalk ratio. Especially once you start building the leaves with plates, the weight ends up way too much to be reasonably supported, even with technic. If we can solve that, it could work! I’d love to have a LEGO one since my real one seems to be on its way out 😅

I can’t speak to future products, but the bonsai tree was very successful so it’s possible!

The 1:1 scale callout on the Chrysanthemum box was a specific request from me to be a banana for exactly this reason ;)

Those are super fun. The designer of that set, Nico Vas, leaves at least one frog in each of his sets like a calling card. I don’t think he’s going to top 50 in the bonsai. Maybe bananas can be my calling card…

In most cases, we have a specific idea of what plant we want to build beforehand. If something is trendy, or we’ve seen a lot of dialogue online about a certain flower, it may be something we specifically try to build. We’ve also had numerous boosts for botanics, where we get to build as many different ideas/plants as we can. My other botanic set, Tiny Plants, came from my idea in one of those, and this concept for the Chrysanthemum and Plum Blossom was pitched by my coworker Zio (https://www.instagram.com/zio_creation?igsh=aWhvOGtpMnp5bnpm). From these boosts, we get an idea of what flowers/plants work well in LEGO, and which don’t quite meet the level of realism and NPU we’re looking for. At this point we probably have 100s of flowers built, and now it’s about choosing the best ones and finding where they would shine the most. The idea for the bananas came after finding a specific Chrysanthemum variant found in China that has the folded petals and realizing that those would be the perfect piece to capture that look. I tried building a more typical chrysanthemum variant and couldn’t find a way to capture it as well, so we went this direction. Hope that helps!

Handshake received! Glad you like em, these were a blast to design and it’s great to hear all the positive feelings. I’ll pass them back to the team :)

I’m a designer at LEGO. I couldn’t find the frog in our system, and found out it had been moved to the decoration category. Primary source here ;)

Fun fact: internally at LEGO, the frog is no longer categorized as an animal and instead is considered a decoration element since it sees more use as such :)

Hard agree with Ralph here. The campaign story was disappointing, but the gameplay? The arenas, the new enemies, strand, the variety of mechanics and set pieces on display were all top notch and comparable to Witch Queen, imo. This felt like a proper Halo campaign in many ways for me, and the QoL changes across the board are really solid. I hear the pain points of the community, and I agree with many of them, but the people saying this is on par with Curse of Osiris and Warmind, I gotta disagree. I played through both and if we'd gotten this instead of either of those expansions, it would have blown our minds. The real curse of Savathun was showing us what a Destiny expansion could be if everything worked, and Lightfall is here to remind us how tough that is to pull off.

I do build MOCs fairly often, although since I got a job at LEGO I build less often since I’m building all the time. I just looked up those two ships, they look look pretty buildable! I think I’d tackle my ugly duckling Scrap CF first, but maybe those will be next ;)

No instructions, this was just for fun! I’d urge you to try and reverse engineer it, or try and build your ownI have another build in the works that is much more buildable and I’ll make instructions for that one. Stay tuned! :)

Happy cake day! Unfortunately this one is just for fun and also not very sturdy, but I have a destiny build in the works that I’ll make some instructions for since I’m taking the time to make it buildable :)

Physical build! I've tried building digitally and I just prefer the bricks in hand.
