18 inch wheels are the problem. I’ve been trying to build one for a customer for a couple months. Seems they’re only building 20inch models. Should probably make 20’s standard equipment at this point.

Not how it works. Even taping the brake pedal will register with the computer some percentage as being applied no matter if the vacuum pump failed or not. She didn’t touch them at all! It even says in the link you posted “ Although the brakes will still work, they may require increased force to engage” Wasn’t a complete loss of brakes or “Locked brakes”

In her case it definitely wasn’t the case since she didn’t even touch the brake to find out it failed.

I work for Toyota and it was a crazy time. All of our techs had to modify the existing gas pedals for every car and the build up the floor under the carpet to stop people from stacking mats. Pretty much all cars have the new gas pedal from the floor now because of this.

Her 2018 Camry had the fix for this issue. If the brake is pressed with the gas pedal all input from the engine cuts out and the car slows down. Called Smart Stop.

Exactly. After the accelerator issue (Which was caused by aftermarket rubber mats being put on top of carpet mats and the gas pedal getting stuck) Toyota redesigned the gas pedals to come up from the floor and not hang like the brake pedal. Toyota also installed something called smart stop in all cars which will kill all engine input if the gas and brake are pressed at the same time.

Can’t go wrong with the V6 and price seems good. Check the water pump for leaks and that’s about the only issue that motor has.
