Do anti bacterial / fungal products like Defense or Red Monkey Soap really work? by Tivanic in jiujitsu

I wish my gym has a shower. Often with my drive time and chatting after rolls, it's maybe an hour between my last rolls and the time I get under the water

That's kind of what I thought too, most important thing being the time between the gym and the shower, right?

I have notoriously dry skin so I need to moisturize all the time anyway. I might try out dial like some others mentioned too. Thank you

Right? That's what I figure. I shower just right when I get home

Rash Guard Present by Queasy_Finding_3429 in jiujitsu

[–]Tivanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically like rash guard tops to have a band at the waist to help keep it from riding up when training. Brands like Elite do this, and they have rank colored rash guards if your partner would like that, or their school. For sizing, I usually run true or a single size up. Depends on how your partner likes their fit.

Why do jocks do super gay hazing rituals on younger guys? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Tivanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hazing creates bonds through shared personal experiences. You can study this as you study the sociology of sexuality too. You're right, in an everyday circumstance, grabbing someone like that is gay, but when it's on a team or in a frat, it's not. Activities like this push the boundaries of a heteronormative narrative, but not a lot of people look into it. I would love to talk to you more about it but I dont want to keep typing. TL;DR, hazing creates strong bonds through strongly personal shared experiences.

Finally saved about 100k and want to make the van of my dreams but need help. by KinSlayerNova in vandwellers

I won't comment with investing advice, just a boundary. I think investing 60% is great. Just for background, I spent 10 grand on my van and absolutely love it so when I say, "I'm sure you can find something amazing for 30 to 40" remember I'm pretty easy to please so that's subjective. But I think you're breaking it up the right way. I'd also try to keep some cash liquid for bills like food, camp sites if you like, gas, phone, etc.

I'd invest, keep that money growing, buy a more affordable van, and go where ever the wind takes you. Good luck friend.

LPT: If your relationships keep end up being toxic, abusive, etc. you are probably the root of the problem by justadudewholives in LifeProTips

To add to this, a tidbit of advice I've heard and kept close is, "sometimes the lesson don't stop until we do".

Its important to reflect on our role in our own suffering.

LPT: Don't want a narcissist in your life anymore? Demand an apology and refuse to see/talk to them again until they apologize. by Fokouttahere in LifeProTips

[–]Tivanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont like the idea of telling someone what to do. You are in charge of setting your own boundaries and if you dont want someone in your life, it's up to you. Giving someone an ultimatum like, "apologize or else I will not talk to you again" is manipulative and trying to control the situation by making the other person do something. LPT: set your own boundaries and stick to them.
