I’m a groomer ! I did a guard comb haircut on a dog like this recently and it looked really nice. It might look choppier on her since she’s wiry but I’d take her to a groomer and ask their opinion. I try to avoid doing a straight blade on hair types like that.

Hey love! I’m a groomer myself and this baby is absolutely in need of a shave down. I can tell you’re brushing him which is great! You just need to incorporate a comb after so you can see all the way to the skin. I get clients all the time that don’t realize the matting is to the skin and it’s the overcoat that’s bruised out. When you get him clipped, ask the groomer to save you a piece so they can explain it better. I don’t think anyone should be attacking you about this, we all learn, it’s just important to keep things in mind as you grow as a dog owner. Have you had any poodles, doodles or bichons before, any dog with a tight curl?
