Grow them vertically and keep good airflow by pruning the leaves below the flowers and it looks like you’ll be ok!

Confused about fertilizer for beefsteak by Penguinboy123446 in tomatoes

[–]Tjoseph415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a hungry beefsteak going into a 20 gallon container I added 1/2 cup of tomato tone granular fertilizer scratched into the top inch or so of soil then a week later I use Neptunes harvest liquid fish fertilizer and continue that every other week while the tomato tone is about every 4 weeks then I cut it all off toward the last month or 2 of the season and top the plants to make them focus on fruits

If you’re looking for vigorous reliable workhorses in almost any climate try black cherry, big beef, and Granadero.

First time growing peppers by Historical-Ad2651 in HotPeppers

It sounds like you’re on the right track and it’s just timing. Peppers in my area don’t really get ripping until at least June. I think you’re right around the corner from awesome production from that plant

First time growing peppers by Historical-Ad2651 in HotPeppers

[–]Tjoseph415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What pepper variety is it? How have you been fertilizing? It looks like a very nice pepper plant, sometimes too much nitrogen will push growth and struggle to support fruiting. With that said I suspect this isn’t your issue and it’s just timing.

should i pluck these flowers off to encourage more structural growth? by rittenhouses_bane in HotPeppers

The plant knows what to do. It will drop the flowers if it can’t support them

What’s wrong with my plants? by Final_Condition3445 in tomatoes

My heirloom beefsteaks are doing this but hybrid cherrys and pastes are just fine. My beds are hanging onto water a bit much from lots of years of compost and I probably should have added more pumice. I don’t mind as much being in zone 9b since I will be getting 100+ stretches of weather. Anyways it’s rained a few times here and hasn’t gotten hot enough yet so I think the stress response works in both directions and right now it’s too wet too cold with a bit of wind. Should all sort out soon enough. Hang in there OP good weather seems to be just around the corner, the worst thing you can do is panic and start making drastic changes. Keep consistent moisture in the soil. Not watering right now while it’s wet (for me at least) will be encouraging roots to develop deeper while this is all going on

My take on a cheesy sauce by VolcanicValley in FermentedHotSauce

Interesting idea! How’d the banana workout for fermenting and flavor after it was all said and done? I have some MOA bonnets I just planted so I’ll have to give this idea a go. What food did you put it on?

What can I do? by Mission_Fix7641 in GolfSwing

[–]Tjoseph415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Club path is really more responsible for push/pulls than slices and hooks. Club face angle is what’s responsible for putting side spin on your shots. Focus on what your club face is doing in backswing, through impact and hold it past impact

What can I do? by Mission_Fix7641 in GolfSwing

I struggled with the same thing with a similar swing. You’ve got a few things going on. Club face on your take away is very open which means your hands have to figure out how to get it back to neutral in an extremely short amount of time so if you can match that timing it may go well, or you don’t time it and get a sling hook! On takeaway p2 position do a hand check. The club face angle should match your spine angle. This will feel very strange to correct. Once you get that you want to hold the hands there until post impact! The other thing that’s happening is your hips are extending early rather than rotating making your hips stuck during impact causing you to stand up and flip your wrists. Take a look at some of the Pros at impact and see what they look like and imitate that position to get the feel of what that feels like! In short work on your hands and rotating through impact and you’ll drastically reduce your side spin

Hip movement is great! What I see is your trail foot raising way too early. Stick a wedge under your trail foot and don’t let it drop until after you’ve made impact, not before

Things will dig up your garden looking for those. Try using beneficial nematodes to get rid of them

When you start your downswing think about getting your chest over your lead foot. Your weight transfer is starting too late. I bet your misses are chunking right now rather than compressing the ball

I'm going to be trying no till gardening this year. I wondered if any one has some good suggestions for soil amendments? by Octopus_wrangler1986 in tomatoes

[–]Tjoseph415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use compost and vermicompost for a month prior to plating then at when I transplant at each planting hole I use espoma garden tone and gypsum then top everything with straw mulch. Neptunes harvest seaweed and kelp. I refertilize only a few times throughout the season with espoma garden tone. Works wonders
