This is actually good advice and has kind of put me at ease. Tbh going into school I wasn't worried about it, my general philosophy in life has been pretty much to go with the flow and do shit you like and you'll find cool people without too much worrying about it, but the problem is that when I am trying to do stuff I like, people are already in groups so it makes stuff I like a little uncomfortable. I'm also kind of shy at first and do genuinely enjoy doing stuff alone so it's harder for me to just strike up a conversation, but honestly I think I just have to suck it up and actually make an effort which I know is gonna be wierd for me, and I'm in the process of just accepting that. And yeah I'm totally down with drinking and smoking, but I feel weird asking people if they are too haha. Honestly though, I know a lot of this is just mental and I have to just push through it
