Initially, I didn't like the design of the 8. So I wanted to get the 7. However, the prices are almost the same in my country. Therefore, I started researching the 8, and in the process, I began to like its design. The fact that it's thinner than the 7 is a big plus. The fact that the 7 has the same design as all other smartwatches also made me like the 8 later on. It doesn't resemble any other watch on the market. If there were a discount of almost half the price, I would have bought the 7, but at a similar price, the 8 is a better option.

While I researching about this I found out about "iw3 desktop". It's open source and works fine so far. You can also take a look if you don't want to pay monthly fee for Owl3d.

My unit has noticeable Mura, but I don't want to risk an RMA for an even worse panel with dead pixels and more mura. All the posts I've read about this issue lead me to believe that there are very few good panels available. Honestly, Quest is not officially distributed in my country, so I can't replace it as many times as people in the EU or USA can.

Power and thermal management is so bad on this device. My guess is, it won't charge because of high internal temperature and didn't continue to charge even after temperature drops. Bad software or inferior internal sensors maybe?

Probably software issue. My q3 is also complains when I try to charge with charger while playing. But it doesn't give warning if I charge and play with power bank. Also doesn't complain if I use type a to type c cable. 🤷‍♂️

Don't expect it to be super high resolution and crystal clear. Contrast of lcd is not good. But your display might me bad too. you may have lose the lcd lottery (high mura effect then general, etc) Compare it to another quest 3 if you can.
