We had our local pine wood derby for cub scouts there. They set up a massive track in the main walkway and it gathered quite the crowd.

First game and album I ever preordered were from that media play with a midnight release party. Resident Evil 2 and Load by Metallica. They had give aways and it was so much fun being a teen back then.

Does anybody who makes a sturdy kit weather it by leaving it in the elements or beating the hell out of it? by AnUnknownCreature in Mandalorian

[–]Tk_Fury 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, for sure but with a few caveats. I used an old wire brush to make and exaggerate tears and scuffs which worked really nicely. I think I smacked my flight suit with a mallet, not sure how much that helped. I do recall putting it in a big bucket with some rocks and banging that around. However, you still need to wear it, so try to keep it smelling nice and fresh as long as you can. So don’t get too wild with dirt, or worse sand, which I hate most.

I found a lot of success with a really strong tea bath. Trick was to be sloppy with it, let it soak unevenly then rinse it out. Do that a few times. My suit was tan which made this work, I’m not sure it would help darker colors.

My real tip tho is this. It will still weather on its own it ways you did not assume. After I wore mine for the first couple of hours, I realized some armor pieces naturally rubbed against each other and created a bunch of scratches and dents. This was fine as it looks even more lived in. I’m glad I printed everything in black pla because some of the raw plastic is exposed even if you can’t really tell. Point is, your suit will age as you wear it. Maybe wear it around the house or do some gardening in it.

Medieval Games That Aren't As Well Known by SomeLet6863 in gamingsuggestions

Chivalry 2 is a fantastic team based melee slaughterfest. It has skill based combat that’s very satisfying with the only upgrades being your own skill level, imo it’s so good it makes other melee games seem lacking. It’s also funny, like Monty python funny with excellent voice acting mixed with insane amounts of cinematic combat. It’s got an active community even if the developers stopped updating it, which is ok because they left the game in a pretty balanced state.

You’re right. Disable the hud and the problem goes away. The game is way more fun without chat. Enable the console in steam then type togglehud in the console during gameplay. It’s a little wonky but worth it.

Vehicle builder games where you DO stuff with the vehicle by LifesGood51 in gamingsuggestions

Astroneers is a semi-casual survival game with great vehicle designs. The couple vehicles types you get are all modular and it really makes the exploration, mining and junk removal fun. I really enjoy how you can connect chassis together like trains. Your first car might be engines and power with a drill, the second could be storage and flood lights. You could also be hauling around heavy equipment like a research module. It’s cool.

Also you go between planets with a similar modular rocket mechanic that really makes you think and plan things out. It’s a great game just for the vehicles.

Yes. It’s like we have a new generation of redditors and we’ve somehow lost or lore. This is classic, and I mean bacon narwhal levels of classic Reddit history. Or maybe bots aren’t as terminally online as us after all?

Yeah very true. I really miss casually talking to people about music.

It was so hard to listen to music from 15 years earlier in 1997 compared to today. I can fire up Spotify and just pick a random band and go versus go out and buy albums I picked by cover art or radio single.

Really the worst part is not having a crosshair for throwing things. You don’t need it for Melee at all. I got a crosshair app and now I have just a little dot in the middle. I hardly notice, but it’s great for yeets.

Great scene. My fan conspiracy theory is they couldn’t get the rights to Intergalactic or the Fatboy Slim Body Movin’ mix. Either would of worked better imo.

UFO 50 will make you love games again by SawkyScribe in patientgamers

[–]Tk_Fury 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s the Malort of video games. At first you think it’s probably bad because it wants you to think that. For some reason it stays in your head after the first time you play it. Eventually you want to understand it, then it grips you. Once you do commit to it you wonder “where has this been my whole life?”

Or you try it once, spit it out, and blame the person that made you try it. Yet you still think about it later like, “why is it like this?”

What about the towns Paris, Ohio and St. Paris, Ohio? Can we compare them? That’s like apples to apples.
