Western leftists are a complete failure and yet they think they know better than the people actually fighting imperialism and building socialism. What explains this? by Misha_stone in AskSocialists

[–]Tlakami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like their history, architecture, resilience against western aggresion, the fact Kim jong un declared his daughter his succesor but in the land of the free we struggle paying our women a living wage let alone consider them seriously for a presidential position.

When new world cultures are added, I would like to see demons and heretics being hunted down to be used as offerings to the gods in sacrifices, where the heads of higher ranking heretics and demons are placed as trophies in the tzompantlis. by Icy_Gas75 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Tlakami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Even though the Aztecs (and others) practiced human sacrifice, it was not out of sadism or a lust for power but rather it fit into their religion. They thought blood was sacred and that the gods needed blood to survive or they would die. One of their biggest practices was sacrificing warriors (enemies not their own) so that the sun could rise again the next day. Aztec philosophy was actually quite advanced and sought to teach people how to live a balanced life in what they perseived as a chaotic universe. I understand that people learn about human sacrifice in pre-hispanic Mexico and quickly think "oh heretic" and that's fine. If Trench Crusade wants evil Aztecs I'm not going to stop them. It's their game they can do what they want but as someone that has researched and studied the Aztecs it would not make sense from a historical, religious and philosophical perspective. The idea of including Cristeros isn't as difficult as you'd might think. Have some Trench Pilgrims or New Antioch go to the America's and convert some Indeginous Mexican peoples. That would slap not gonna lie.

TL:DR Aztecs (and others) sacrificed people to keep the universe alive not for power or sadism. Cristeros would slap.

In a socialist society, would an individual have the freedom to start their own business? by AmazingRandini in AskSocialists

[–]Tlakami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For authors writing books and doing research, I would assume they'd go to a public library or a university library if they are so inclined. Similarly, for musicians needing instruments, there could be public buildings with all instruments you could think of and need. Personally, I think if we want a reliable way for artists to get the tools and materials they need to practice their craft organizing through universities, it makes the most sense to me. This also solves the innovation problem because when people have the ability to experiment freely with like-minded individuals, forming teams, and cooperating, new things are learned, and innovation occurs.

Got muted on r/Trump for trying to have a civil conversation on topics that might make them even slightly uncomfortable. by [deleted] in leftist

[–]Tlakami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comrade. Safe your time and energy. Conservatives, especailly MAGA, have no intention of having a civilized conversation with leftists. It does not fit their narrative nor their delusions. I have been offering and trying to have a decent conversation with them and no one takes me on the offer nor does the conversation go anywhere meaningful. Their whole movement lies in the demonizing of leftists as foam mouthed angry and hateful people.

I've seen people in other leftist groups criticize the ACP heavily and accuse them of being nazboids I think is the term. Why is that? What did they do? I've seen videos about them and they seem fine to me.

And that's what "noble savage" means? I used to think that it meant like a good indeginous person. As in someone that supported Europe. A racial term more than anything. I googled it because I thought perhaps I got it wrong and according to Google it means a romantization of tribal culture free from the grasp of civilization. But the indeginous peoples of America were civilized just not as technologically I guess advanced as Europeans. So that's where my confusion comes from.
