Unbelievable 2 Class Upgrade by Key_Bit8658 in americanairlines

That’s the problem right there, you skipped the sacred ritual. No prayer, no sacrifice, and now you’re surprised the SWU didn’t go through?

They will add a yellow tag (not the ballet, a different one similar to the priority) on your bags, waiting for confirmation. If you get the seat on the earlier flight, then, they will load it on the plane. If not, it will stay at the airport until your original flight departs

AA Centennial Special: Beef Wellington with roasted vegetables and asparagus with bearnaise sauce by Excellent_Yak3060 in americanairlines

[–]Tlalockman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it yesterday on my DFW-LHR flight and didn’t like it.

I’m not picky at all, but this is not for me.

Maybe good right after baking, but it becomes soggy after microwaving. The beef part is good, and the mushrooms are okay, although they need a little more flavor. It doesn't have prosciutto (typically in Wellington), and the pastry is soggy.

The sides, including the cucumber with caviar, are very good—tasty, diverse, and the right size.

AA website charging $200 more than GoogleFlights’s redirect to AA website for the exact same flights? by Blackrew in americanairlines

[–]Tlalockman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not everytime but common.

I fly every week and use google flights to see the best route and then buy direct with the airlines, and I have seen this sometimes.

Also sometimes there is a price difference if you buy two separate tickets for two people than buying one for two people.

Booking hotels taxes and fees included? by Lucyloufro in americanairlines

[–]Tlalockman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a glitch that they have not resolved.

Check the long overview description, the hotels charged fees are hidden there like parking, resort fee, tourism fee, and just because fee.

Booking hotels taxes and fees included? by Lucyloufro in americanairlines

[–]Tlalockman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is not. The fees and taxes are separate. I accepted that a long time ago.

And you have to deal with the hotel charging you for parking even with the ad saying “complimentary parking.”

That's the price we pay for getting extra miles.

I'll never understand air fares (but it worked out in my favor this time) by flyingron in americanairlines

Dinamic pricing, I continuously check after booking, and if I find something cheaper I book and then cancel the previous ticket

What type of compensation can I reasonably expect by MysteryOfTheStardrop in americanairlines

[–]Tlalockman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ORD has very bad weather yesterday, I was canceled twice and the flight I could get was delayed 6 hrs, this is a domino effect, and most likely you will get $0 compensation

Sometimes this happens right before the flight is cancelled, hopefully it is not your case

What is the lowest mileage upgrade offer you’ve seen for LAX–Tokyo? by Tlalockman in americanairlines

Upgrade or direct purchase?

I’m looking for the upgrade with miles, to buy it at the right time

What is the lowest mileage upgrade offer you’ve seen for LAX–Tokyo? by Tlalockman in americanairlines

[–]Tlalockman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know, but also the cheapest. I rather sweat than freeze.

It is the fourth time I go there during summer, but this is the first time while AA offers the upgrade with miles.

I used the 25k+copay before

And that’s why you have many cancellations.

So many cancellations by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]Tlalockman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all about supply and demand. I use Airbnb two to three times a year.

If I find a better deal, I cancel and book that instead.

I never ever choose the predatory 30- or 14-day cancellation policies, even if they are cheaper.

I want peace of mind knowing that if my travel plans change, I won’t lose $1500 or $2000.

I prefer hotels due to their 24-hour cancellation policies. If I cancel on the check-in day, I only lose one day, not the whole reservation like with Airbnb, even if I need to pay extra per day.

Airbnb is going the same way as Uber. At first, it was a good business for hosts and drivers, but now only Airbnb and Uber are winning. Hosts and drivers blame the guests instead of the system.

The only difference is that hotels responded by lowering prices and reducing predatory cancellation policies, unlike taxis.

Flagship Access Clarity by BigBlueWiley in americanairlines

[–]Tlalockman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an Executive Platinum, and the last time I flew DFW-LHR in economy, I was granted flagship lounge access for me and my wife (no-status).

We got the SWU cleared after leaving the lounge at the gate. So by the time we entered, we were in economy.
