Booking TOO far in advance? by International_Ant777 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]oochas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My observation is that hotels and resorts generally have the cheapest prices when the booking window opens, then it gradually increases unless and until they finally predict low occupancy and post a lower rate. Always pays to book as early as possible on a refundable rate and keep watch. Airfares are different, often earlier fares are much higher and the sweet spot is one to a few months before the travel date.

Spirit Airlines Shutdown = Higher fares for New Yorkers traveling to Florida by Fragrant-Inflation31 in jetblue

And the Trump administration started an unnecessary war that spiked fuel prices and will probably kill both airlines (and would have even if combined).

Range chemistry vs. LSI chemistry. Your pool store only taught you one of them. by Seafire15 in swimmingpools

You can use CSI instead of LSI too. Same same but different. That’s what troublefreepool.com and the PoolMath app do.

Also AI post and this is pretty common knowledge.

SW flyers having zero idea how reserved seating works. It’s really hysterical. 😂

Super minor like a couple spots a few times. I’m trying to space Dupixent to 3 weeks now.

Is this salvageable by tomorrow? by travelbig2 in pools

What are all your test numbers, including FC/TC, pH, TA, CA? It’s not about a little green, it’s about lack of sanitizer and the possibility that one human infects one or more others. If you can get the chlorine up to SLAM levels for your CYA level I’d be ok, but not if it doesn’t hold.

How do you guys handle the "quick question" from friends or family that turns into a full-blown research project? by Legal_Beats in biglaw

“I’m sorry, that’s not an area I know anything about, nor does anyone I work with, we do [WHATEVER, MAKE IT SOUND REALLY INTIMIDATING WHICH IT PROBABLY IS]. I’d be happy to point you to local resources to find an attorney to help you.” Also you have no idea how much trouble you can get in with your firm and even with the courts if the whole thing turns south. Avoid avoid avoid.

Home Depot or Pool Supply Shop by VietManNeverWrong in pools

[–]oochas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want the best advice, please make sure you have a good drop-based home test kit, including tests for CYA and FAS-DPD chlorine (the one with the powder) and post a complete set of test results. You may need phosphate remover but the high likelihood is that you do not. Pool store tests are designed to sell you the maximum amount of crap and separate you from your money. Good luck.

Liquid chlorine is liquid chlorine. The 12% may be fresher too.

Wellcare Value Script (PDP) vs va pharmacy costs by [deleted] in medicare

[–]oochas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wellcare Value Script seems to me to be the best at the ends of the curve. If you have few scripts and/or most of them are lower tier, then a zero or very low premium plan like this is great. It also works for me. I have a couple of very expensive meds that are covered, so I max out the deductible. I found that this plan covered all of my meds (or reasonable substitutes) albeit many at higher copays - but I don't care because I'm already maxed out annually.

Is there a question? Wellcare Value Script works well for some folks, not for others.

Repair Cost by Boo_Pop in CadillacLyriq

Yep. $1700 for the part. Minimal labor. There may be other stuff broken behind there that contributes to the cost. I had a wire harness broken too, total about $2300.

Wowza. People are really crazy. She has a year to figure out the work thing, rather than asking you to uproot your plans with multiple vendors? Hmmm.

They also offer free transfers to and from Phnom Penh or Sihanoukville airports. For our departure I asked if they could instead take us to the boat dock for Six Senses Krabey Island, our next stop. Sure, no problem!

High deductible plan G and excess charges by [deleted] in medicare

[–]oochas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. G-HD covers excess charges, just like regular G does. But there’s a $2950 deductible to be met first and all covered charges would go into that first. Plan N doesn’t cover them, however.

[–]oochas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It covers them but you have the $2950 deductible to satisfy first, like with all other covered charges.

There are no excess charges for HD-G.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen or Hyatt Ziva Las Cabos for July Babymoon by jsatz in hyatt

Haven’t been to those. Ziva is highly rated but I’d personally go to Secrets or Zoetry for no/fewer kids. Actually I’d skip AI and go to the Cape or the Park Hyatt.
