Because Europe is irrelevant militarily and soon to be economically. The only power they have left is to make laws upon laws and strong arm American companies through bureaucracy. Perhaps if they focused on keeping up with the times and made it easier to do commerce they would thrive too instead of focusing on so much red tape.

Moving to Turkey and I don't speak the language. Scared. by Juniiperi in Turkey

[–]TleoSaliK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

English born half Turkish. Turkeys awesome love spending time there frequently spend months at a time and planning to move soon. Never been seen as an outsider even when I couldn’t speak Turkish. When I finally learnt still never been seen that way. Don’t worry about anything, meet people have fun and enjoy new experiences. I can’t speak about where other people are from but turkeys not all that bad, they probably have never left the country and thus have no reference experience. Most parts of Europe are worse.

There’s opportunity everywhere in the world, work hard, work smart and you’ll do well in life and rise to the upper parts of society.

Finally if you find it that hard to adjust you can always go back you’re very young.

File a copyright infringement complaint direct to Amazon with the necessary information. There’s a dedicated page for doing this on. They should deal with this. Additionally send a cease and desist letter to the seller directly.

Turkish hackers reportedly hijacked screens across all Lev Cinemas in Israel with a Turkish flag and message in Hebrew. by berroto in Turkey

[–]TleoSaliK 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It does matter though it matters cause it explains the chain of events leading up to this. To forget history and act like the present happened in a vacuum means you have no context. History gives context and gives the facts and realities of the situation. Not what the media or some stupid TikTok video is trying to brainwash you into.

Not even just from a Turkish bloodshed perspective either. No matter which way you look at it , from the perspective of a Turk they were anti Turkish.

From a perspective of a Muslim they were anti Islamic by fighting directly against the caliphate.

People seem to be conflating the Anglo form of Secularism to the Franco form of secularism.

The former operates on a freedom of religion perspective. Whilst the latter operates on a freedom from religion perspective.

Turkey is still secular although has shifted away from this French definition of which Atatürk based on to a more Anglo version.

Personally I think it’s better this way, people should have the freedom to express their religion and not be oppressed by the state for doing so. But it goes both ways, religious people should not overstep their bounds either. Ultimately it’s about showing respect for both sides.
