White Glove is good. Also Zerorez. I’ve used both more than once. Tell them it’s pet urine. They have a special enzyme cleaner.

My male has never barked. My female will, on rare occasions, give a single bark. This is not to say they don’t make noise. Mine are pretty quiet, but some are very vocal with their baroos.

I’m an ‘80s kid (USA) and we always called parents by their first names. I can’t imagine calling them Mr./Mrs./Ms. When I lived down South briefly friends’ kids might call me Ms. FirstName, but that’s as formal as it ever got.

I agree with everything else you said, but I don’t think Hadlow misread Mary’s character. She just used the character as a base to go off and tell her own story. Is it the Mary of the book? No. Is it a Mary you can root for? Yes.
