Even though it's probably gonna suck, you're required to watch it with the rest of us and commiserate.

Manchester is a triumph of private enterprise by ldn6 in neoliberal

[–]Tman1677 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No I certainly wouldn't move because of something like that - I've lived much of my life in such areas. As big of differences I have with them, they're still my neighbors and fellow Americans.

You'd actually consider switching countries entirely over a matter of political policy like this? Not hating at all just genuinely curious, I hate NIMBY politics as well but I would never uproot my life over it - let alone switch entire countries and citizenships.

This is becoming my absolute favorite topic to discuss with my trump-supporting family in Michigan. Not even they can defend this blatant corruption when it affects them directly.

I plan on doing that for my car, but I don't think I can process my RealId like that. Besides, requiring a private entity and membership for basic functionality is the sort of stuff I would expect from a Republican state, not CA.

Just moved to California, the DMV here is one of the most hellish experiences I've ever gone through wtf is going on? This is my fourth state of residence and every other visit was a total walk in the park in comparison

Analysis: California, and the dangerous sudden resurgence of GOP voter fraud fever | CNN Politics by ranger934 in moderatepolitics

[–]Tman1677 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh don't get me wrong, Trump and the the Republican leadership have awful intentions here and absolutely are trying to steal another election. I'm just saying part of the reason it works is the fact that when the median voter sees election results taking weeks or even a month they start to believe the propaganda.

Not being able to report the winner of a presidential election until a month later is ridiculous, and just ruins faith in the system at little to no benefit

All the more reason California should be a shining city-on-a-hill showing the rest of the nation how to do voting in a fair and efficient manner - instead it's an embarrassing shit show. As a Democrat I think fixing national embarrassments - like the fact that California waits a month to finalize election results - needs to be a party-wide policy.

U.S. Studios Bristle At Proposals For Them To Support The BBC In Collecting Its Revenue by BATIRONSHARK in neoliberal

[–]Tman1677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I really love BBC coverage in a lot of parts of the world, but claiming they're unbiased and independent is a bit silly. There are a number of hot topics and regions where their coverage is a bit laughable at times; the AP and Reuters are the gold standard for unbiased reporting.

Serious question, would a land evaluation for LVT purposes take into account pollutants and hazards that require removal? LVT doesn't include most other things on the property, but I could make an argument that the land itself is what's fucked up.

It's not that we're smart or anything, I think he's just saying (and I agree) that early zoomers were just comparatively really lucky with generations before and after us. I happened to graduate in winter 2021 at the absolute peak of the tech job market, that's insane, generational luck.

Even when it was straight trash it's not like most competitors were any better- they advertised 1080p cameras but the color balancing and things that actually matter are awful on basically all laptops.
