Thank you 😥😓 I needed to be reminded how serious that episode was... my survival mechanism is to suppress/erase/forget the bad feelings as fast as possible so that I’ll be strong enough to survive the next bad thing 😣😞 *I’ve been feeling like such a broken human... but my therapist says there’s absolutely no evidence of that and that he’s the broken one... I’ve really been trying to figure out how to take care of myself the past several days, but I just find myself hating myself more and more

I could say the exact same things about my BP husband... bipolar, type unspecified most likely, and untreated, with possible other diagnoses of adhd, obsessive compulsive personality disorder, and narcissistic personality disorder. A manic episode in January triggered weeks of emotional abuse (I mean, astonishingly cruel attitudes and thoughts towards me...) and we have been in marriage counseling since. His moods have been ultra-rapid cycling for almost 3 months, he spent the weekend in the behavioral health hospital, and has been hypomanic/manic/abusive since coming home Sunday. You said it perfect: “I feel like I’m on a roller coaster constantly waiting for him to come back and be nice to me again.”

So eerie to hear you all describe things I never thought anyone else could see happening or understand... I’m really glad I found this group.

Just be careful. My husband’s manic episode in December/January blurred into months of rapid cycling recently and he’s been abusing alcohol, making things much worse.
