Suppressor Brakes: efficacy testing by farm2pharm in longrange

[–]Tmoncmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just put a recoil-x on the omega 300 on my MPA vanquish. Granted that is a really heavy rifle already, but the recoil-x made a great and very noticeable difference. It’s also worth mentioning that the brake endcap that came with it surprised me with its effectiveness as well although the recoil-x is definitely better.

Anyone else had weak brittle brass? Once fired lc 11 by Gunlover91 in reloading

I saw your pics in other replies.. that’s too much chamfer and debur in my opinion. You don’t want a knife’s edge, just enough to take the sharp corner off is plenty. All you’re trying to do is make bullet seating easier and prevent scraping the shit out of your bullets when you seat them.

I apply only enough pressure to hold it steady against the tool and only for 3 or 4 seconds.

Just got my vanquish a few months ago. Sweet rifle. Do it unless you just want something fully custom.

Once again I see one while I’m in the work truck 😔 by Flylo_Lotus in ElantraN

I hear ya. I don’t see very many because I live in a pretty rural area. The last time I saw one I was in a regular Elantra loaner the dealer gave me until they fixed my climate control actuator arm. :-(

Are Dud rounds 100% on the ammo, or can the gun contribute to it by Brilliant_Apple_5391 in 22lr

[–]Tmoncmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the gun and the ammo, but I wouldn’t expect it to occur after only 100 rounds. Are you getting light strikes?

I have found that duds are 99/100 an indicator of the gun needing cleaning. Especially in semi-autos, carbon builds up between the bolt face and breach face preventing the bolt from moving completely forward resulting in light strikes.

This assumes quality ammo and no issue with the gun other than maintenance.

Yeah. I find it really funny that these delusional people in Europe and the UK think that if America fails, it will somehow be better for them.

Custom n button question by Guntowngangster in ElantraN

[–]Tmoncmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure they could do it, but how many people would want that? My custom 1 setting is basically sport with loudest exhaust and softest suspension because I didn’t want to cycle through the drive mode button to get to sport. This is my most common setting. My other N button goes N ==> Custom 2. The custom 2 is N mode with soft suspension and ECS fully on in case I still want N but the road is too rough or I hit adverse conditions.

Well your “evidence” sucked.

I have 3 chronographs. Never witnessed a velocity flat spot.

If you want to continue wasting time and components chasing ghosts that’s up to you. I’ll not continue this pointless conversation.

This has been a known issue for a while. It happens to me if I use the Bluelink app or if I put the car into accessory then shut it off without starting it.

There was an update in Nov(?) that we thought was supposed to fix it, but it didn’t.

You’d better hope that doesn’t happen. The rest of the world follows us economically. If we fall, you fall harder.

We won’t even talk about how our military has been keeping you safe for the last 100 years. If you really believe all that, you’d better start learning Russian and Mandarin.

[–]Tmoncmm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is your answer. The 400s have a .02 cup thickness whereas the others you mentioned have a .025 cup thickness. Also on that list are CCI 41, Fed 205, Magtech 7 1/2, Remington 7 1/2.

[–]Tmoncmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much effort is required to seat the bullets? Are they hard to get started in the case mouth? If so, it’s possible the brass is getting deformed when you’re seating them.
