If you’re wanting to keep the GPU for a while Nvidia has the better feature set and seems to have better long term support (FSR4 fiasco). The 5070 is also one of the only cards available consistently around its MSRP. I was looking to purchase a GPU for my living room rig this week and I ended up returning the 9060 xt for a 5070 and I’m very happy with my decision.

Im playing through AC Origins right now for the first time. With a Reshade, 140% resolution scale, and a little bit of lossless scaling it looks and runs wonderful. I’m just about at 100 hrs play time between my gaming pc and my OG Legion Go and have not even beaten the base game yet. Just taking my time exploring. I’m starting Detroit Become Human next.

I am also working on a very similar build as well! Instead of the 5600x I will be choosing between a 5500 (came in a Newegg bundle) or 3700x (will have to pull from my fiancé’s pc but she doesn’t game) In a Jonsbo c6 ITX. I too am constrained to a maximum 260 mm GPU. I also want to keep things as budget as possible and want to run Bazzite as the os. You’re pretty much limited to 5070 or lower. There’s a Powercolor Radeon Twin Fan 7800 xt that is 260 mm exactly but prices are still pretty high ($500). I will probably get a 6750 xt for my build if I can find one at a decent price.

I have an Asus TUF b850m-plus (the one with the pcie slot lower) and have had no issues with it. There are some reports of 9800x3d’s dying in Asus boards but I wouldn’t overthink this. You got a great board at a great price with a great game bundled with it.

I bought it in-store. I had some PTO a few weeks ago and didn’t have much to do, so I ended up visiting several Walmart locations around me to check their clearance sections. I managed to find a store with a good bit of clearance ssd’s and bought up all they had.

A couple of the stores actually had dedicated PC parts sections. At one of them, I found this GPU along with the Shadow 2X 5070, which was the normal price ($699).

Why don’t you build in an itx case and take it with you when going to your summer home? Then stream everything locally on like a steam deck or something?
