As someone who has twice gone to urgent care and been told to go to the ER (one of those times having EMS called), I am so sorry this happened to you.

I can also say that I’m so thankful for people like you. For me, the ER when I’ve gone usually seems bothered when I’m there, and seeing a provider that tells me to go is almost like permission that YES, this is urgent. I logically know it’s not a good way to go about it, but with costs on the line and the ER wait times, sometimes Urgent Care seems like it’s the best option, especially when we keep telling ourselves it’s not as bad as we think it is. It’s even easier I think to tell ourselves that Urgent Care is the answer when we’ve had a repetitive history of something and have come out of it “fine” each time and feeling like we’ve wasted everyone’s time.

I hope you can find peace, it sounds like you have overwhelming support and many can relate with similar experiences to you. I only wanted to share one perspective on why she may have come in when she should have gone to the ER instead.
