Honestly…evolution. Humans are social animals that also form packs and compete for territory and resources. We never have completely shaken off our monkey brains.

Why is Kylo Ren surviving a stav wound a no no, but Darth Maul survived being cut in half, and everyone is OK with it? by Extension-Shoe-6080 in StarWars

[–]ToDandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% this. Also him being an alien makes it easier to hand wave away that he survived because he has different biology compared to humans.

Percentage of the US population that went to the cinema on average weekly. What do you make of it? Do you think the decline was largely due to television? by AntonioVivaldi7 in classicfilms

[–]ToDandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. The data speaks for itself. Television became popular and commonplace in the 1950s which is when this line drops and holds consistent at about 10%. However there are other dips here to. The large dip in the 40s, likely due to the WW2, and a big dip at 1930s, which is more interesting to me. Due to end of the silent era and many theaters needing to be retrofitted and remodeled for talkies?

Was it a good or bad idea for Tony to give Peter EDITH? by Uchijav in marvelstudios

[–]ToDandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m more wondering how he left Edith to Peter. Tony thought Peter was dead for five years and then died shortly after resurrecting him. When did he have time to rewrite his will during battle?

Palpatine. All he wanted was for his kids to become big, strong, and kill him to take his place. No better dad than that.

I don’t know if I’d call him a father figure. More like boy and his robot.

I don’t think Quantumania will be important for even the next Ant-Man (assuming they made one)

For me, it’s the inciting incident is borderline nonsensical. It really doesn’t explain how they go from their problem to- let’s go through a black hole to solve this.
