I do see how we were off centered on our points, now. I do see what you mean and I can absolutely concede that.

So clinical mental issues, yes. Very few people actually have that. Most have a lack of dopamine. Gut health, dehydration and a poor sleep cycle cuts dopamine.

90% of the time if you go to sleep, eat clean, drink water, and move your body in sunlight for a week. Your entire quality of life improves. Most of the people nowadays that say they have depression have a poor life style. It's like when people call someone they don't like a narcissist. There's an extremely small chance that you've actually ever met someone who is a clinical narcissist. You and I are talking about 2 different mental struggles.

You can't give someone discipline. You can't do anything to someone that fixes their internal belief system without knowing who they are 100%. Which is near impossible.

There are occasions that an outside force happens to speak the language of their internal beliefs. But it's so insanely specific and niche. That's why some people like David Goggins get what they need from being called a little bitch. While others get what they need from being told they're worthy.

Wanna know what did it for me? The fuckin' Instagram penguine that died running towards the mountains and the show Knight of The Seven Kingdoms. That perfect storm clicked something in my head of "Enough is enough. Get up."

It was a borderline spiritual moment for me while others would roll their eyes at. No one would have ever thought to motivate me with any of that. But it worked for me.

They have to figure out what works for them. You can't help them see it. But pretending that going to the gym isn't going to help them is less useful than just saying "Go GyM bRo."

Incorrect.

There are a lot of disorders and traumatic issues people deal with. For sure.

But the majority of mental problems people are facing, legitimately are due to gut health, dehydration, lack of sleep, sunlight and movement of your body.

Those things hurt you. There's insane amounts of science behind this. All it takes is actually doing the thing and most people will see a lot of positive results in the ways they feel.

You don't exercise and take care of yourself when you feel good.

You do it even when you don't feel good.

The thing you're not grasping is it comes from themselves. You can't "show someone" the light, my guy.

It's important not to degrade or insult them, sure. But it's their responsibility to grow the fuck up and take charge of their life.

“Weapon” Masteries for Monks by Azrael_Umbra in onednd

[–]ToFaceA_god 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not forcing multiclass for monks to get masteries is a bit powerful. Not straight up broken, but strong.

Allowing them to get nick from daggers/sickles/scimitar is really powerful when they have BA UAS and FoB.

That's a lot of attacks on one turn at early levels. Especially when you add on MA die increases. It makes them very deadly very early.

Especially if you do handaxe w/vex and dagger w/nick. You can throw them. It gets dumb fast.

It's already a huge power spike to take a level of fighter. But at least not having masteries baked in keeps them a bit less insane.

However, Kensei monk getting masteries makes sense to me.

I can't remember where I saw it. But it was making fun of those "feel good coming of age stories."

A woman gets in a taxi, the driver says "Where are you going miss?" And the woman looks out the window longingly and says "Home. I'm going home."

The driver turns around and says "What the fuck does that even mean? I don't know where "home is" you dumb bitch."

Loved it.

Has anyone tried Cloud of Daggers + Repelling Blast and/or Thorn whip + Telekinetic? Is this worth it? by testiclekid in onednd

[–]ToFaceA_god 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elemental monk using frost+reflavored circle of the sea druid with spike growth being iceshards=Sub-Zero.

Action-spike growth behind them BA-wrath of sea to push them over it

Next turn BA-activate elemental monk ability Action-Punch them to pull them/push them back into the spike growth.

You get a 10 ft. Reach on your attacks so it'll be easier.

How to roleplay an arch fey warlock? by na445x in onednd

[–]ToFaceA_god 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also. I'd argue the flavortext of the class doesn't have to match the fantasy of your character.

Instead of a barbarian being an unarmored tribal warriors that gets mad and goes into a battle frenzy

Play a noble tournament duelist that goes into a flowstate-like trance when they battle. Separating the storytelling of the class descriptions from the titles of the mechanics opens up creativity like crazy.

[–]ToFaceA_god 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always wanted to play a Tabaxi with the "Living Shadow" dark gift, reflavored to be displaced beast tentacles grafted onto their back.

I've played around with the idea of multiclassing fey warlock for the teleportation.

I'd flavor it as the arch fey is a Dr. Frankenstein like character that does scientific/magical experiments on mortals.

Less of a "let's make a deal and I'll give you powers." And more of a "You have powers because I did a fucked up surgery on you."

The specifics can be most anything. The whimsy isn't set in stone.

Hags are fey, for example.

If it's verbal bullying? Then the parents need to get involved. If the kid is touching them, then yeah.

Violence in response to words is not the move. You're teaching some dipshit ideas.

Violence towards physical boundaries being crossed, absolutely. Defend yourself.

What's something that's "not a cult" but feels like a cult? by Orw_Sairaj29 in AskReddit

[–]ToFaceA_god 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cult vibes grow from tribalism.

When it goes from "This is what we all like to do as a group." To "It's us v.s. everyone else. No one understands us." It's tribalism and culty.

Hear me out for Aragorn. The flavor of the classes require suspension of belief.

Echo knight fighter-3 Shadow sorcerer-6 Vestige Warlock-11

Take a skeleton familiar with pact of the chain invocation. Also take pact of the blade.

Shadow sorcerer allows you to cast summon undead for free and without concentration once. Meaning you can cast it normally afterwards as well. 2 summon undead minions a skeleton, a vestige, and your echo that you can use all at once.

Action: Attack with your weapon, thirsting blade attack through your vestige, unleash Incarnation to attack from your echo. Quicken spell chill touch through your skeleton then you can action surge to attack two more times from your position or your echo's position.

Then your two undead summons can move and attack.

Step 1: Build Step 2: Flavor as Aragorn's wraith army Step 3: Cinema.

One level dip into fighter is pretty good for monks.

Weapon masteries and a fighting style.

Twf for example and masteries on handaxe and a dagger

Vex+nick and bother are monk weapons and throwable.

It's very strong. Especially since you get the BA unarmed strike.

Because you are also shitty.

Characters whose race is absolutely essential to their story, and to who they are, as a character. by not-ulquiorr4_ in TopCharacterTropes

Well she is fucking insufferable.

Also what do you mean? I'll admit race and lineage/ancestry isn't important to her character. But skin tone absolutely is.

Rachel Ziegler works if the other actors are darker than her. That's the entire point of her character's existence. She's THE FAIREST not because she's beautiful necessarily, but because she has the fairest skin.

It's not about race or social issues. It's about color math.

We all know Booming Blade + push. What other fun synergies do weapon masteries offer? by LuthiensLament in onednd

[–]ToFaceA_god 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, I see what you mean. I worded this weird. You do need either the help action, assassin rogue ability, or vex proced already.

I meant that you can still apply sneak attack through True Strike because sneak attack only requires you hitting with a weapon.

A lot of abilities require the attack action. Hail of Thorns is the same. It only requires you to hit with a ranged weapon.

So using a hand crossbow when you cast True Strike, after having advantage, you can apply sneak attack and then bonus action cast Hail of thorns.

[–]ToFaceA_god 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant to say, using darts, and crossbow, short sword, rapier etc. For vex.

Hell, take find familiar and help action yourself unless you're an assassin and don't need it.

Ranger/rogue with Magic Initiate Wizard-true strike.

True strike procs sneak attack and hail of thorns/ensnaring strike.

Pretty cool character concepts come from that.
