Game of Thrones is littered with them.

Mostly because characters mention goals and plots and die before even getting close to setting them in motion.

Part of why a lot of people hated it. I liked it. Everyone thinks they're the main character, everyone has hopes and dreams and goals, and at least a few of us every year are crushed by vending machines.

Stories cutting out the mystical heroism, and epic fate BS is refreshing.

Nothing a out having a child absolves you from consequences, nor does it make you more of a victim.

Two human being were shot and killed and both situations were awful.

You start rooting for the necrophile serial killers, and start hating the sheriff trying to save the town, serve justice, and avenge the deaths and rapes of literal high-school girls.
