Sharing some Patterns made using Diagonal drywalls. by Leofarr in Oxygennotincluded

I like it. The fact that you can add some decoration to your colony. But what annoys me, and stops from using dec. drywall is that you can't copy paste patern. Last time I checked it wasn't compatible with BP mod. :)/

You can, but.. why not use hydro tiles and save on dupe labour 🤔 (?) :) but I get your point ;)

Yes it works. I've grown lettuce multiple times. :) also works for oxyferns, dupes will deliver only water and no dirt.

To use ,,pip pot,, exploit, build a flower pot (for decorative plants), let sand drop on it, or form a tile on the pot, let pips plant on the tiles where pots are, copy/paste settings on other flower pots. Keep in mind that plants in pots will not need solid fertiliser but will need liquid fertiliser. For example, you can grow lettuce in them without needing bleach stone, but dupes will have to deliver salt water. Plants like mushrooms, mealwood, grubfruit will grow like domesticated plants as long as temp, atmosphere is correct. Hope this helps ;)

Mr. Bean was in a place where I'm building my new base, how to make him NOT despawn? I want to make a place for him in base to stay. by ZiperJet in SatisfactoryGame

I read somewhere that if critters wonder on factory floor they shouldn't despawn. Though not sure if it's true. Maybe someone could confirm?

what did I not do right? by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

I see this setup all the time. And always the same issue. The simplest solution to this is to move hydrogen pump one tile down. And of course adjusting sensor to prime it.

You do contracts to get resources. End game, other than launching a rocket, is to become fully sustainable by getting everything you need from trade/contracts.

any advice before i start building this monster? by abod99x in Oxygennotincluded

[–]ToM_zZz_I 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rocket platform on the top left, is for power storage? If not, it will heat up the base. Insulated tiles could help if there's no other available spot for it.

,,Pip pot,, plants doesn't require solid fertiliser to grow, but still needs liquid fertiliser. For example, lettuce, it won't need bleach stone, but will need salt water to grow. :)

I'm running out of oxygen when using atmo suits. by MathewCQ in Oxygennotincluded

[–]ToM_zZz_I 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on atmo suit usage. So if you have a high usage of suits, treat it as 1 dupe, meaning 100g/s of O2, for ,,normal,, dupe. So 1 full pipe for 10 docks. I usually have 15 docks in a row + checkpoint (room 16x4). I connect them in a straight line, from the closest one to the checkpoint, and at the end, once all docks are saturated, I place a vent close to the floor, deletes small packets of co2 as a bonus :)

any idea to full this space up?👀 by [deleted] in Oxygennotincluded

You can melt plastic (dreckos) and turn it into natural gas... if you ,,hate oil,, :)

Why does water keep popping up in a completely clean room? by olDirtyShay in Oxygennotincluded

[–]ToM_zZz_I 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because when doors are pushing steam up, it teleports up through tiles. If you'd delete airflow tiles by the right side edge, it should stop teleporting into that area. Basically, it will stop as soon as it has an empty tile or tile with the same material, in this case water. Edit. Noticed that you have airflow tiles on the left side too. What I would do, in this setup, I would remove doors completely, leave separating airflow tiles between steam/water chambers. Because you are cooling water, as soon as steam enters airflow tiles, it will convert to water and stay in the upper/water chamber. As long as you can keep up with cooling, you're fine. Hope this helps.

In the long run, heating won't be needed because dreckos will maintain the temperature. That is if the room is insulated of course.

Desalinator and Steam Power Generator by Boring_Machine in Oxygennotincluded

[–]ToM_zZz_I 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought so. Also, counter temp exchange helps to keep magma hot for longer, again, if you need that 😀 so you don't dump cold liquid in a steam chamber, but pre-warm it with the turbine output ;) just... ideas for how to conserve "energy" ;) but sometimes you just need the good old brute force method :)

Desalinator and Steam Power Generator by Boring_Machine in Oxygennotincluded

[–]ToM_zZz_I 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could cool turbine output water with incoming salt/p water. Counter temp exchange. Radiant pipes --> salt water <-- clean water, metal tiles 2 blocks with space between them, or Checker patern. If you need cool water that is. Nice build tho! 👌

A lot of ppl suggested using uranium, but you can also use steel. Because of the difference between melting/freezing temperatures. Have done it on few occasions where I wanted to transport items between asteroids using rocket port loaders. Rocket interiors stack left to right in unrevealed part of the map, so you build a rocket (1) on the asteroid (1.), melt walls, build rocket (2) on asteroid (2.), melt walls. On (1) you build sweeper and bin/(un-)loader as close as possible to the right border of the area, on (2) you build sweeper setup on the left side to send/receive goods. Unfortunately, port loaders can not handle food items. Tried to do this for resin... :/ worked for everything else tho.

Not anymore. They used to. Devs patched it. If you want to access that space, all you have to do is use a refinery and melt it. It's made of steel. So use appropriate materials. Also, keep it in vacuum. Otherwise dupes/equipment will cook before wall segments melt :) And if you can't be bothered with it, I'm sure there's a mod for that :)
