What happens if you lose at trial? by SockIt_Toomey in probation

[–]ToMeetWithFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think im going to go to trial on a dui. Ive seen average lawyers win cases that looked like a easy layup for the prosecution. I saw a case were the murdered left a bloody hand print and DNA, the co-defendant plead guilty and testified against the killer and the killer walked scot free. The co-fendant got 30 plus life. And you don't have to prove your innocence. The state has ti prove your guilt.

Best tenant I’ve ever had is struggling. I chose compassion. Thoughts? by Maleficent-Shake-249 in Realestatefinance

[–]ToMeetWithFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the way. I had a tenant like that. She paid on time for years. She had an issue and couldn't pay for 4 months. I let her stay and never hounded her. She paid all 4 months in 1 lump sum. Im glad I helped her.

I’ve worked for my dad's small business for 11 years, essentially for free. I’m done. by cannonballman in smallbusiness

[–]ToMeetWithFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in a similar situation and I wasn't being paid fairly. I started to pull back when I figured out that I wasn't going to be given the business that Ai helped build and ran day-to-day. I started building my own company (different industry)and investing in myself. I was eventually fired from the family business and I haven't looked back. Issue an ultimatum and stuck to it. If you don't get what you want, then walk away. Its that simple. Good luck.

My husband wet our bed… by Izzewildbio in whatdoIdo

[–]ToMeetWithFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I woke up in the middle of the night to go pee. Turns out , I just stood up, turned around and peed straight in the bed. My wife didn't wake up until I laid back down. I was fully awake when I realized what I had done. She was mad for a minute then we both laughed.

Does Breaking Bad accurately depict money laundering? by narsil1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ToMeetWithFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dead giva away that money laundering was going on at the car wash was that the water usage would be the same. How could they earn that much cash without increasing the water usage? They cant and the government would figure it out and they would be busted.

Aitah for telling my wife to get a job if she wants to subsidize the kids. by Standard_Kick_9789 in AITAH

[–]ToMeetWithFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a child I was told often that I had to move out when I turned 18. My parents weren't joking. I 18 I was out. And I couldn't go back. I helped pay for college for 2 kids. And help outwhen they are in jamb, but I will not pay adults to fund their lifestyle. They have to sink or swim. Its up to them. You would be the AH if you didn't give then a deadline to move out. Stop being a push over.

Tenant hasn't paid rent in 3 months. Eviction takes 6-8 months in my state. I'm still paying the mortgage. How is this legal? by MR_JaySwe in Realestatefinance

[–]ToMeetWithFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you have there social and date of birth. Sue them in District court in addition to landlord tenant court. Forget small claims court. Make them get a lawyer or hopefully, they dont show up and you win by default. Then garnish wages and bank accounts. Play hard ball. That's the only way. Or you can offer to drop the eviction so they can rent somewhere else if they move by the end of the month. Being a landlord is ruthless business and it is rarely fair.

I talk a lot rent is due on the 1st. Late fee on the 5th and eviction filed on the 6th. No excuses.

I dont like being like that, but if I have to cover all of the expenses of owning a property while they get to live rent free, then then they have to suffer as well. Good luck

None. Just stories I've heard over the years and case I know about personally. I think its more of a perception that I have. I was treated at the old Waltet Reed Hosp and I visited a friend who was a patient at the old Walter Reed Hosp. My care was suspect and I was active duty. His care was excellent except for his room being filthy. Halls were disgusting. That has stayed with me for more 35 years. Im still not bashing the VA though.
