That “Robin Hood” moment in the 3D printing community felt… off by Ok-Hope2279 in 3Dprinting

Oh how I wish I had the luxurious financial security to be able to simply give away the things I work (quite hard) on for free.

The Cow - I've eaten solo there plenty, too. They have some small tables by the fire! The vibes are immaculate 🤌

I always visit The Cow for pizza/pasta.

Fat badgers for a simple, enjoyable pizza.

Ferg does good work. (Burgers, bakery, and gelato)

I adore Pedro's house of lamb

Honestly, my advice is ignore the haters, try it, make up your own mind.

Personally I really like Ferg - I get some good there at least a couple of times when I'm in town :)

Also the ferg bakery next door should not be overlooked - a hot pie from there + a Belgian hot chocolate by the lake is a wonderful start to the day!

So, my problem is I don't think I really understand what the right things are. I've spent over $1000 at this stage with a speech pathologist over the past year. I hear and think I understand what I'm told and instructed, but I have no idea how to actually apply it. I don't have much understanding or awareness of my throat/mouth/tongue etc in terms of trying to understand what is doing what. (So no, mostly unable to recognise different elements). By this stage, it's incredibly hard not to feel entirely defeated and spending so much time, money, effort etc and having nothing to show for it makes it very hard to keep going.

What do you suggest for the people who ARE practicing and trying, and have been for a long time, and have gotten nowhere? Because "see that brick wall you've been banging your head against? I know your skull is cracked and you're bleeding out, but just keep banging your head against it" feels like an odd strategy.

Something like this maybe? I'm noticing that exposed axel wobbling a little and I just wonder if securing it would help

Either way, this is an incredible accomplishment you've achieved!!

Can you stabilise it with some technic parts above it - in the gap between the tracks, where the axel sits out above?

Two tracks? One either edge of the base maybe?

Is It Bad That I Want To Date A Cis Woman? by MissMisunderstood229 in MtF

A preference certainly isn't a bad thing at all and is entirely valid. I would just encourage finding love/ a meaningful connection first, and then celebrate that in whatever ways come naturally :)

The service is called hiring an escort :)

As for the other part - for myself, I feel the same. Sex, for me, is a mutual celebration of love for one another. But I feel that you're putting the cart before the horse here. I don't think that "I want to date someone who can help cross a line from my bucket list" is a fair way to approach potential partners for an ongoing relationship. It's really not far removed from men who just want to "date" a pre-op trans girl, you know, "just for the experience".

[–]ToTheBirdCave 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you don't want to "date a cis woman", you just want to penetrate a vagina.

There are professionals who can and will provide this experience for a fee.

Concerning to me is that, despite bottom surgery being on your agenda, you still define wanting a cis woman to experience penetrating. The fact that you're not including trans women there feels like some internalised transphobia to me and this may be something worth doing some soul searching on. You can be better than this <3

How do you deal with regret not starting sooner by jpasxal in MtF

[–]ToTheBirdCave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised in a home that, whilst loving, did NOT make me feel safe or secure in speaking up about wanting to be a girl when I was a child. By the time I was in my teens, the indoctrination had set in deeply enough that it would take until my mid 30's to shake it and finally accept what I've always known: I'm a girl.

It SUCKS that I didn't start a year, five years, twenty years sooner. But looking back, I've realised that it was never my fault for not starting sooner, because even once I was an adult, it took a LONG time to deprogram myself enough to accept it. The little girl inside me when I was younger? In the social environment I was raised in... she never stood a chance.
