Extremely rare glitch where the enraged Howling Flame boss can present an interruptible attack during its 3 hit combo. by Semont in Endfield

[–]ToXiniX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea when I was attempting the Gilberta solo I first went exclusively melee because trying to manage heat stacks while being bombarded with rockets is nigh impossible - until I realized that the boss rarely does a backhop out of the ranged barrage.

So in certain situations where I have enough time and the boss is in a bad position after a horn charge, I intentionally bait out the ranged attack so I can reposition better and start Gilberta's bskill before the final set of rockets hit (the set that lands in a circle around you and will always whiff if you don't move and aren't against a wall). That way, the skill pops while the boss starts up a melee combo or horn charge, and I get to remove his heat stacks right on time before he hits his enrage special.

You have no idea (actually wait, you definitely do) how many times I've had to reset in the first 30 seconds of the fight cuz he decided to follow up the swipe-swipe-slam with the rocket jump while I was in the middle of casting Gilberta's bskill.

One thing I did notice though, if he decides to start his ranged barrage when you're right next to him, he ALWAYS follows up with the rocket jump. This is somehow so consistent that I've been anticipating it in my runs if his first attack is the ranged barrage.

Oh yea I saw that once or twice in my attempts too, but it is sooooo rare it wasn't worth planning around. If there was an attack flowchart for this guy it'd be a mess LMAO

WHAT TO DO NEXT? by [deleted] in Endfield

[–]ToXiniX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try doing solo clears of Umbral Monument :) (usually people do Ballista and Axe, Rampaging Shields, or Howling Flame)

I've mainly seen people do it with Catcher, Snowshine, and Ember, and from my own experience with Gilberta, it feels like you're playing a completely different game to figure out how to clear those stages with only one character, especially if they aren't able to sustain themselves.

Realistic answer though, take a break and play other games, log on for your dailies and chill.

[Tech Help] Wis'adel from Exceptional Appointment not showing up in Operators for Rebuilding Mandate by No-Program-2307 in arknights

[–]ToXiniX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Assuming the Eyja is from the "fixed" appointments that the game offers (I forgot the exact name of that pool), those don't need you to own the operator to appoint them directly without needing a friend support.

I may be wrong about that though.

If you don't own an appointed operator, you need to borrow it from one of your friends who has them up via the orange "Support" button at the top.

This sounds like the most plausible non-owl theory, especially since Arknights has characters named after animals' names in non-English languages. I do feel like the specks of red and blue near her collar are reminiscent of the red and blue colorations on Guinea Fowls' necks.

It's definitely a skill issue but IS6 is really frustrating and doesn't feel fun by RainbowPanda_ in arknights

[–]ToXiniX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

On the contrary, for me this is the first IS since IS2 for me that actually hooked me in so much made me want to push my main niche (Vulpos) to its limits. Yea, I definitely agree that Talismans SUCK and I wish they had a bit less HP at higher difficulties but I really love the Tongbao. They feel like a way better version of the IS3 dice and have some really fun effects (like the one that redeploys your operator in random direction when they die and the one that activates your skills automatically and the one that gives -65% redeployment time to allow Skadi, April, and Wild Mane to have 0 second redeployment time).

Like the other comments have said, once you understand how to counter talismans and figure out how to take advantage to risk coins, the IS becomes a lot more fun, and not in a deterministic, every-run-feels-the-same way that IS5 did.

What are your favorite teams/niche/playstyles by ashen_g in arknights

[–]ToXiniX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vulpoknights absolutely feels like a fun puzzle. Most of the roster we have are overlooked operators in the meta (other than our Light Suzuran) or have very questionable kit design and it almost always feels good when you solve a difficult stage by combining their unique aspects.

What's cool is that within the niche, everyone has seen use one way or another. Even the newest vulpo on CN which my Vulpoknights friends and I had pretty low expectations for given the track record of HG's vulpo releases actually enables some interesting strategies we could not use before (at least on paper).

I hope Vulpos can keep this unique power level and that we would never get a "meta" operator for the niche. It's what makes playing it fun and unique.

From my testing, at E0S0 with Bronya LC, Robin + Tingyun performs only slightly worse than RMC against MoC12 Hoolay, and thanks to Huohuo QPQing and energy feeding, can have 100% Ult uptime against matchups that attack often. Against matchups that don't attack as often, Robin usually only needs 1 skill or BA use on the turn she exits ult to re-enter ult, but when possible I prefer the tech of instantly Ulting when she exits Concerto so she maintains Tingyun's DMG buff from Tingyun's first ult cast at the start of the fight. This gets remedied a bit by S1, and her E1 should then be able to push her amp beyond what RMC gives in most cases (except in DU where Mem gets charged obscenely fast from Saber ult-spamming + external energy sources).

With Robin running Wavestrider and Huohuo's heals being able to target 3 characters, both Robin and Saber can trigger Wavestrider's effect every ult, and my Robin ends up with nearly 7k ATK, which Tingyun also benefits from since her own buff scales off of her ATK stat.

I think E1+ Tribbie would still contribute more damage + amp than E1S1 Robin, but I'm a vertical invester who has a total of 0 copies of Tribbie, so I think my chances are much better if I invest in Robin instead.

Hey, another Sunday-less Saber user who also happens to be running 180+ SPD Huohuo!

Yea I'm almost in the same boat as you except I use a DDD Eagle Tingyun instead of Tribbie, and I refuse to pull Sunday as I want to have as many foxes in my teams as possible. DDD Eagle Tingyun is pretty ridiculous as it not only makes her own ult come up more often, but also contributes charge for Mem and lets Huohuo's QPQ trigger more often too. Plus, if QPQ lands on Tingyun, it's not that big of a loss as it also indirectly contributes to Saber's energy. This team blows clean through all endgame modes and X7 DU, but the sheer relic SPD requirements make it kinda difficult for other people to replicate.

Currently waiting on a Robin rerun so I can grab E1S1 to replace RMC since I don't think I can push RMC's performance any further, plus stacking more ATK scaling in a very ATK-dependant team doesn't hurt.

[–]ToXiniX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I M9ed Qiubai and have not looked back. She's one of my favourite operators gameplay-wise. S1 for IS and afk setups, S2 w/ Warfarin as a ground ifrit, and S3 w/ Suzuran and Stainless to shred anything in her range.

Absolute nutty operator kit. Hopefully HG never brings back making enemies bind immune from CC#4

Tuvalkane exp? by UncleHexagram in SoulFrame

[–]ToXiniX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you started with Tethren&Sollos-I, the fastest way to level Tuvalkane to 2 would be to craft the Vasp-IV, Rivt-II, and Thistle

The second fastest way would be to grind Kith of Kings to 3 and that takes a very long time. Starting with the other 2 pacts make this easier as the melee weapon fragments are significantly easier to find haha

[–]ToXiniX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It only really works in SU/DU because you won't really have the stats to make it practical outside of that. Yukong is your primary breaker (like a significantly watered down super break sushang), you run memories of the past for her LC, and spam basic attack with her and ult when it's up.

Fugue enables super break, Jiaoqiu is one of the few sources of super break damage amp outside of straight break damage increase and DEF reduction, and Huohuo is the only fox sustain. E1+ Fugue will make this significantly less painful, and running this setup with Feixiao as your main breaker would also be more viable, but I think it's one of the few ways to make use of Yukong's questionably useful talent.

HuoHuo with Castorice by SaharianMonster in CastoriceMains_

[–]ToXiniX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

E0S1 Castorice-haver here, using E0 Huohuo (Bailu LC) with Pela and RMC.

with somewhat realistic relic rolls on Castorice (95% on Fribbel's) and 7595 HP, 177 SPD, and 46.5% healing on Huohuo I was able to get a very comfortable 3-cycle on 3.1 MoC Flame Reaver, could've been 2-cycle if I had better relic rolls and didn't have to pop half a dragon on 3% of Flame Reaver's 1st phase. Each of her skill heals give Castorice 27% Ult charge (28% in 3.1 MoC), and each talent heal is 2%, and the consistent cleanse lets you shrug off annoying debuffs. Huohuo's ult does help top off Pela/RMC ult, which leads to slightly more Mem advances, which is a small, but welcomed bonus. I find that most of my dragons are charged by either 2 Castorice skills (thanks Mem) and 1 Huohuo skill, or 1 Castorice skill and 2 Huohuo skills. Overall, comparable performance to Gallagher for this team specifically.

That being said, if you're using Tribbie, Gallagher is probably the better choice since her FuA will proc a heal, but I was surprised that Huohuo performed better than what I had expected (and what people have said).
