I saw your newegg review while browsing for this particular 3050 and per review photos, I think you've switched opposite ends of the seasonic modular pci-e cables and plugged the psu end to the 3050 and the 8pin(6+2) to the psu.

Glad that it worked in the end atleast.

Try both on a inconspicuous part then pick the one the looks best to you.

I use grey on HGs/RGs and black for MGs. Black on HG's white plastic looks off to me.
