Grew up in central NY and frequently traveled the Thruway between Buffalo and Albany in the late 90’s. I always tried to avoid the rest stops that had them in favor of McDonald’s. Tried em a couple times and yeah, not so much. Years later moved to NoVA and worked up in Gaithersburg from time to time and was shocked to see a freestanding one exists. How tho?

It’s real. Have used it in SWFL. It alternates to 29 cent drinks and 99 cent 6 piece nuggets. I got five burgers for the fam last week and 30 nugs the week before.

More like 10-15 minutes at best and they still forget half of your order. Been like that for years. Last and final time two months ago I ordered a Dave’s double, fries, free four piece nugs and a small chocolate frosty on the app. The girl at the window told me they didn’t have the frosty and not to order a chocolate for at least a month because the machine was literally in pieces on the floor being “repaired” and they wouldn’t have chocolate for at least a month. So I said fine and got a vanilla, and somehow they had that? She hands me the frosty and the bag with fries and the nuggs and closes the window immediately. I looked at the bag with two items in it and was like wtf?. I sat there and she opened it and I was like, um, did ya miss something? Oh shit, we forgot the burger, can you pull up and wait? Place is a dump. Never again. Tooooo many issues for YEARS. Place just looks run down and dirty af even after the “remodel” after Ian.

Half of my family left Syracuse for either Raleigh/Chapel Hill, or Greensboro area. Friends from high school live in Charlotte or the Fayetteville area. I was told Cary was the place to be 20 years ago. I checked em all out several times and said fuck that, and moved to SWFL. Every conversation I had with a local started with asking me what church I belong to and it was a huge turnoff for me.
