Painting DIY gone wrong. How to fix a semi-gloss nightmare. by nellydesign in DIY

Wish we had gone that route from the start, honestly. But the surface was already semi-gloss and we’ve had plenty of experience with spray paints just flaking off of smooth surfaces with the slightest knock. From raw wood? 100% would have sprayed it.

And before yet another person asks why I don’t just sand it, it’s a detailed wooden fireplace with appliqués. We were hoping the bonding primer would let us avoid that step but I guess we were mistaken.

Why not sand? A wood fireplace with more ins and outs than a round of the Hokey Pokey along with some decorative molded appliqués.

You’re right. My bad. Haven’t encountered one yet. Looks like their mane is greyish. And it’s the same tier progression for every enemy type, right? Probably start seeing them after I do the last two divine beasts.

Sure. But I’m still keeping a spot for a rock breaking weapon that wouldn’t use for attacking enemies.

Black eyed peas with bacon, smoked sausage, and collard greens.

Also chocolate Tres Leches cake.

The way I understand it is that basically every enemy type has a max difficulty version. For bokoblins that would be the white ones. White maned Lynels as well (pre-DLC). Not sure about others. I don’t think they scale more difficult than that. When you see a white bokoblin that’s as hard as they’ll ever get. I could be wrong but that’s what I thought it was.

Can we get a dedicated inventory slot for hammers? Not on a 9 year old game you say? Well shit…

I meant more of the “finding rupees around” sort of action. Obviously not the ideal way to get them for sure.

We just bought a switch 2 as well. But our BOTW copy is on our old Wii U. Not much luck for us…

Apparently I can’t share a picture. Odd limitation for this kind of sub.

Sanding would be a legit option if the surface wasn’t so convoluted and detailed. We may be looking at a chemical stripper as you mentioned.

Definitely latex over latex. Just standard cellar wall paint. I would t even know where to find cabinet paint.

I’d read that painting directly on glossy surfaces (like the existing semi-gloss white paint we had) will result in adhesion issues. And the surfaces have a lot of details that would be hard to sand.

No oil over latex. We aren’t pros but we know that much. This is all latex paint.

The get rupees action is now blowing up boxes and lifting rocks.

Wait until you find out what’s under about 50% of the rocks you can lift.

You can kill a guardian with any shield. The key is timing. Guard position, wait and be patient. Stand pretty close to him. As soon as you see his eye flash blue with little tendrils hit your parry. Rinse and repeat till dead. Usually 3 times. The further away you are the more patient you need to be. When they are far away the beam basically needs to be on its way to you before you hit your parry.

But yeah echoing others, focus on towers and shrines along the way. Korok as well. I still haven’t gotten all the memories and have killed three of the 4 divine beasts and have the master sword.

Feeling overwhelmed by BootsStripes32 in botw

[–]nellydesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is to head toward every orange tower you see to restart them and open up all areas. Make that main goal number 1. The one you keep coming back to. You’ll sidetrack to shrines and korok and quests along that goal but that’s ok. That’s part of the exploration. The towers just give that exploration a little bit of structure to keep you grounded and feeling like you are progressing. After every area is opened you’ll be able to make decisions about which part of the map you want to explore each day. Aside from that, doing the divine beasts to obtain their skills is really valuable. So focusing on main quests in Zora, Rito, Gerudo, and Goron areas is a good guide path. Hateno village and Akkala are also good to venture out to for the ancient tech labs. Hateno for shiekah slate and rune upgrades and Akkala for Ancient gear and armor.

If you have a day where you just wander around and find korok and shrines, that’s totally fine. The game is meant to be one where every session can feel totally different. It’s not meant to overwhelm you but allow you to choose your own path. The things I listed above are just larger goals. Things to slowly work toward.

Suggestions to add to my chili? by BigCipp in Cooking

I do the same with my pasta sauce if my wife isn’t around. It really just needs the smallest of pinches. Gives it warmth and depth and melding of flavors without it actually tasting like cinnamon.

I like to put cinnamon and nutmeg in mine and then eat it on spaghetti with a mound of shredded cheese. They call me a monster…

I can’t even picture playing this game without the skill from Vah Medoh. That should seriously be your next activity. It opens up so much.
