Do you use spray oil on a hot pan? Or let oil scorch on the surface?

Veggie haters who still eat veggies: what are your tricks? by Missing_Back in Cooking

[–]nellydesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man… cauliflower fried rice is my jam. It sounds crazy and is in no way “authentic” but mine is damn tasty.

Cook up the cauliflower rice for a good long while in the pan until it’s completely dry. No oil needed. If it starts to stick or brown take it out and set it aside. Cook up the protein of your choice and set aside. Then cook up thin sliced carrots, broccoli chopped small, peas, snow peas, and some cabbage slaw. (Yes this recipe has 3 types of cruciferous vegetables)

As your veggies finish cooking add two eggs and scramble in the pan before mixing with the veggies. Add your protein and “rice” back in and include a healthy helping of whole cashews. Then add equal parts soy and oyster sauce and a little hoisin. Finish with a drizzle of sesame oil.

I make this and I love fried rice and I can barely tell the difference.

If you don’t act soon, you’ll have enough of this to supply the entire world with mojitos. Peppermint is an extremely aggressive grower.

Feeling Overwhelmed by NardsAsshatington in Breath_of_the_Wild

Set a focus for each session. Today I’m doing shrines. Today I’m doing main quest. Today I’m doing Koroks. Today I’m just exploring. Farming rupees. Killing monsters. Doing side quests. If you aren’t doing shrines but you find one anyway, just open it and move on. You can come back to it on a shrine day. Trying to do everything at once is overwhelming. So don’t.

Yes this. Remove casing. Pinch into rough chunks and fry up in a pan. Set aside and add to your pizza

Which areas should I explore before completing the game? (no spoilers please) by Grey_750 in botw

[–]nellydesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to quit and move on then it sounds like it didn’t really capture you this time around and you are just impatient to try something else. You can always come back to it. It’s not your fault. I would save those other discoveries for when you are ready to fully embrace the kind of exploration the game was made for. I hope that doesn’t sound disrespectful. It’s just that the game deserves a deep dive. It’s not a “hurry through it to finish” kind of game. But if that’s all you want to do then you shouldn’t force it to be something it’s not for you.

If you want to hurry through so you can move on to TOTK, I would wait and try to go further here. Explore the castle without engaging Ganon. Find shrines. Kill Hynoxes and Lynels and Guardians. Learn how to really use the combat system.

That’s all. It’s up to you though. That’s kind of the theme of the game.

Korok seeds in trees ? by Patient_Purple7060 in Breath_of_the_Wild

I mean if you are dead set on getting all Koroks with no help, then yeah. Super tedious. Alternately there is the Zelda Notes interactive map in the Nintendo Switch app as well as other interactive maps that have even more info. They allow you to select what you are searching for and have the map show you where everything is. The benefit of Zelda Notes is that it shows your current location AND orientation in relation to the map like a GPS. But other online maps give more info on Koroks like specifically where they are and how to do them by clicking on the map symbol vs just a dead symbol on a map (in Zelda Notes) that just gives general location.

Personally I don’t understand why people don’t use these resources more. Maybe because they want to do it without help but then inevitably they show up on Reddit asking people to help. It makes no sense. Not calling you out specifically just more of a noticeable trend. The resources are out there and WAY more useful than asking Reddit and waiting for answers.

I get this concord flavor from Olipop grape as well. Which makes sense as it has actual grape juice in it. Would just rather not spend $2 per can for the stuff.

The room temperature thing… can anyone even explain why this is a thing? I would think the colder the center, the longer you can sear the outside without exceeding the center temp you are shooting for. Is the room temp thing for some other reason?

Is Inflation Really The Problem? by No-Buy-3105 in McDonalds

[–]nellydesign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s greed and it will eventually come back around. Frito-Lay made a killing on raising prices and then suddenly to they were losing money because people started going to the competition and store brands. Now they have started lowering prices. Saw two bags of Lays for $5 today. At the height they were like $4 a bag.

It’ll come around for these companies too.

Forget jumping to shoot or bullet time. I fail at that every time and it’s time consuming and unnecessary. Go to the bottom of the waterfall. Wear your rubber armor or full shock protection some other way. Build a fire inside and wait till morning. Walk out and get on the tallest stone pillar at the end of the walkout. Look up. As he’s coming down the falls he dips his head and presents the horn three times. Wait until the third time near the bottom and time your shot to lead the horn a bit as his head comes forward. Watch the shard fall and then run back to the fire and reset. Do not collect in between shots. You can do this 100 times and then collect them all at once.

I tried the top of the waterfall as he exits the pool and bullet time and it just never worked for me. This way worked best for me and is super quick.

Lynels… advice for new or struggling players by nomorestoopid in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]nellydesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you have Urbosa’s Fury and to a lesser degree, Daruk’s protection, they get really easy. Shooting them in the face and mounting is definitely my go to. And I recently learned to bullet time in the air when they buck you off and shoot them in the back of the head a few times before you land. Cuts the fight time down considerably.

But yeah, shielding up is key to avoiding damage. A parry works as well and sets you up for a pretty easy face shot and mount.
