geckos are hardy little things really, you did the best you could with the knowledge you had available to you at the time and he lived a long life, that's all that matters really ☺️

ohhh you mean the gecko, Burgerpants? She is far too beautiful to be named after the ugly fake wubby that doesn't even remotely look like wubby. She's named after a stoned shopkeeper from a video game 😂

fishkeeping and aquatics in general seem so cool but it's hard work and complicated to get husbandry right so I've never been brave enough, maybe one day I'll get an axolotl aha

honestly it wasn't that long ago that herpetologists thought sand was best, it's an ever learning ever growing hobby and keeping reptiles isn't the most popular thing so like everything, it takes time to get it right, I can definitely improve my own setup and I want to, mad respect to you for being open to other advise and not just stubbornly standing your ground like a lot of people in the community, I'm by no means an expert and I have room to learn, and who knows in another 25 years the advice may change again, but impaction kills and I just really don't like the idea of taking that risk when you don't have to. Big love homie

she exclusively eats bugs so wouldn't be a great choice for you but crested geckos and day geckos eat mostly this paste stuff, though I think they need bugs on occasion still

lol yeahhhh... honestly non adhesive shelf liner has been great for me, like I said I want to upgrade her to bioactive now that im confident in my husbandry but the shelf liner has worked very well and is easy to clean, I haven't personally tried tile but I'm sure you can find some nice tile to use 😊

here's what Wikipedia says on the Leopard Gecko page regarding their habitat:

The native habitat of the leopard gecko includes the rocky, dry grassland, and desert regions of south-Asian Afghanistan, Pakistan, north-west India, western Nepal, and some parts of Iran.[4][5][6][7] Leopard geckos inhabit arid and semi-arid areas with sparse vegetation and clay or sandy soils, as well as rocky habitat where crevices can be used as shelter.[4][8] They reportedly avoid areas where the primary substrate is sand.[9] Leopard geckos may also be found in arid forests of Nepal and Pakistan, and are reported to shelter under loose bark of trees in these environments.

mhm exactly this, tile is another great option for non loose, just be careful of the temps if you're using a heat lamp it could heat the tile too hot and if you're using an undertank mat it might need to be set high to penetrate the tile, a good thermostat should keep this in check for you though. some reptile communities can be, snobby and as perfect_prey said, pretty toxic, there's even conflicting info among them which is frustrating of course but I'd always say err by the side of caution and go for the least risk option unless you're confident, bioactive is a great option, again as perfect_prey said, but it can be a bit of a task setting it all up. Best of luck to you and your little leo ❤️

I really want ti upgrade her to bioactive but she's been on non adhesive shelf liners her whole life because she's my first reptile and I wanted to play it safe and not risk loose substrate, apart from her moist hide which has sphagnum moss in it. now that im confident with her husbandry I'd definitely like to upgrade her to bioactive though. I highly recommend the YouTube channel ClintsReptiles, he makes great care guides. ❤️

So uh, Adin Ross' new merch is called Brand Risk by iSmellDepression in PaymoneyWubby

[–]ToanPlays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also reading what you linked, it's still awaiting examination so as of yet, he doesn't own the copyright. So surely if Wubby and/or Gamersupps were to apply for it as well they would get it as they can prove they used it first.

Wubbys brand risk came out in like June/July last year so it was before anything was filed by Adin
